That casting director was an idiot. The whole point of ACTING is that if you can pass for younger then you can play a younger part. Leah Bateman was was like 14 when she played Helen Keller and she was suppose to only be 11 at the time Miracle Worker takes place. She also had guest appearances on Shake It Up and and K.C. Undercover where she was already an adult at the time but still looks young enough to pass as a high schooler. I've played an old man twice despite only being in my 30's cause I can pass for older than my actual age. As long as you can convincingly pass for 12 why shouldn't you get the part? Also not really the same thing but the actress who played Ace in Doctor who lied at her audition saying she was American. They wanted to cast an American for the role cause the character is suppose to be American. The actress got cast and then spent the entire time she worked on the series speaking in an American accent even when the cameras weren't rolling because she didn't want to lose her job and knew they wanted a real American. You could have just NOT told them till after you got cast and the show was over. Like no one knew Ace was actually British till after she finished filming her last episode and then she told them.
