Hunter Mcintyre is the fastest Hyrox Athlete of all time. He achieved the world record run in Stockholm in 2023. Since then, Hunter has been very open about his disappointment with his performance at his latest event, taking third place in Nice.

Just my own 2 cents for the optimal running volume question. VO2 max one of the 4 biggest determining factors for success in endurance sports. Cardiac output accounts for 60-80% of VO2 max (I can’t remember the exact figure), but it’s the largest component. You can do a variety of different exercises to improve your cardiac output & then just to top it off with the running for local adaptations. Obviously running will be the gold standard for improving running, but not everyone can hack the mileage. Using incline work is also a very effective way for increasing your volume without the excess damage

I was the exact same. It's weird, it's like they thought gyms were reserved for muscular people and it was odd for anyone else to be there. Like my brother in christ, how do you think those muscular people got to be that way? You think they just decided "I'm gonna be muscular now and start gyming" 🙄🙄

Im just listening to this podcast, have been training hyrox more lately. I struggle with carb loading and eating sugar as im a type1 diabetic. Ive asked nutritionists and attended talks but does not seem to be anyone in this space that can advise me on hyrox training and fuel that will be kinder on my glucose levels. 😢

School is so toxic bro when you really reflect on it. Seems there’s this battle for being top dog so if you do something others criticise because they don’t want you to be the best. I wasn’t skinny I was already pretty lean so when I went gym more often I’d have people say “oh you’re not that big” and I was also a boxer and won a few fights then some guys were like “id still beat you” “your opponents were shit”. Like you can’t win 😂

This is a brilliant episode. I think we all hold demons inside which will be triggered over different periods of our lives. I think aspirations can easily turn in to something else really quickly but it's important to talk. Friend, family etc. Let them know how your feeling. Thank you for talking about this I suffer with this and I have been trying to get over it for a long time i am 5’3 120lbs but in my head im not. It has helped me to follow workout programs so I don’t over work out.
Girl I totally get it! I am 5’4 125. But sometimes I totally see myself differently. I’m just trying to enjoy the body I have and find balance in all things. You are beautiful! ❤
Bodybuilding definitely ruined my self image especially the post reverse process seeing yourself becoming softer as ur gaining weight and recovering is soo hard mentally cause u become so used to seeing yourself soo lean and shredded
