Volvo B9TLs don't often appear on this channel, but this one was more hare than tortoise, something you haven't quite heard before so deserves a place here. Bit later than planned but thank you all for your views, subscriptions and interest - I hit 1k subscribers earlier this year. Hopefully more buses and trains from around the world to come!

Once upon a time could be found operating on route 74 in West London - lucky people of Putney! This bus will be in service today as part of the Stockwell Bus Garage open day - well worth a ride.

After many bodged attempts to get one of these accelerating to 100mph, I've reached the conclusion that the only place this is possible without any inhibitions is from Wigan North Western to Preston. I remember these First Capital, London T Reg Plaxton Presidents and the later 51 Reg Plaxton Presidents plus the Dennis Trident ALX 400s on the 25 and N25 back in 01, 2001 and 2002.
I wonder that Drivers can control the gearbox and know the RPM of the engine?
Wait so can someone tell me, is the engine directly driving the train or is it still a Diesel Electric setup? If it is, why the gearbox?

I miss this. TFL should have never cut this bus back to Southall. Not everyone wants to use the Elizabeth line to Ealing Broadway. Also 207 and SL8 is busy.

Feels so weird seeing a PVL output this much power, most of the London’s ones didn’t have kickdown at all. The only PVLs that would’ve performed like this were the Y-TGHs on the 171 and a couple of the PVL390-419 batch ordered for the 36

Revs to 2000rpm in first. LJ55 BVH is off the road.
