Tyler Thompson JRP Edge 52mm Gauge Install 🔥 - In-Depth Install Video & Review 🔧✅👍
After having the guys from Aussie Arvos running our gauges for nearly 3-years now without fault, protecting Liam’s Patrol before and after the rebuild, with our 14in1 gauge, and then Patrick’s Cruiser using our Edge 52mm range of gauges. We reached out to Tyler Thompson to see if he would be interested in checking out what has been an extremely successful solution for the guys from Aussie Arvos.
As we now have tens of thousands of customers world-wide, that we have helped over the years with our high quality and reasonably priced gauge solutions, we thought it would be nice to invite another extremely well known and respected 4WD enthusiast channel to see what all the fuss was about, and we’re so glad we did!
Ironically, when we reached out to Tyler, he said to us that his previous gauges that he had been running in Demi’s Patrol were defective, and he was looking for another set of gauges as he was tired of the old gauges not working correctly. Along with that, he wasn’t monitoring the transmission temp on the Patrol, being an Auto, this was something he wanted to be monitoring.
We were more than happy to oblige, and Tyler selected our Edge 52mm Transmission Temp gauge along with our 52mm Water Temp gauge for Demi’s Patrol. Both these gauges come with our extremely handy and practical feature called CPW, which stands for Colour Pre-Warn. Below are some dot points on what makes our 52mm temp gauges a cut above the rest.
👇 Edge 52mm v1.5 Temp Gauge Features 👇
✅ CPW - Colour Pre-Warn
✅Temperature Driven Colour Change
⚠️2-Stage Warning System
👍Fixes Constant Alarms
💥Respond Faster & Avoid Engine Damage
👍 Top Quality EGT Sensors
✅Peripheral Vision Warning
🇦🇺 Proudly Australian Owned & Operated
This video is a great A to Z of the installation of the Edge 52mm gauges, what Tyler & Burto thought of the gauges from the simple things like how we made our gauges have daisy chain power, to our remote button for setting changes, to Tylers thoughts on CPW and the overall quality of the gauges compared to the previous gauges he had running in the Patrol.
We highly value working with guys like Tyler, Burto and the guys from Aussie Arvos, as these are a great bunch of people that can’t be bought! They will only support and promote products they believe in, and well, we think this video speaks for itself. 😉
Tyler and Burto are incredibly impressed with pretty much all aspects of the JRP Edge 52mm gauges, and it’s clear throughout this video that this is the case. We are really excited to have Tyler & Burto on board, as we have some amazing new products coming in 2024 and into 2025, and we can’t think of better ambassadors for our brand than these guys, along with the boys from Aussie Arvos. We all share the same mindset: no bullshit, honesty and integrity all the way. We hope you all enjoy watching this video from the Tyler Thompson crew and appreciate all the customer support we have had over the years, it’s helped make JRP what it is today, a clear leader in the automotive gauge industry, not only here in Australia, but across the world.
If you are looking for high quality gauges for your vehicle, a brand that you can trust before and after the sale, all while not charging excessive prices, look no further than JRP. We are a company built by car guys, for car guys, and we won’t ever let go of this philosophy.

    Installing this in my K-Swapped EG. Been a really install so far so now I'm going through the settings and warnings and these videos are truly a treat. I briefed through the PDF so I might've missed this option but is there any chance of changing the OLED display colour?

    • @JustRaceParts
      @JustRaceParts Před 3 měsíci

      That's a great question, the v2.5 model only has the one colour on the OLED display. We went this route as OLED technology is far brighter and more versatile when being viewed in the direct Australian sun light. At time of production comparable colour changing LCD were not bright enough to view in direct sunlight. We are working with the factories to develop a suitable colour changing panel in future generations of the 14in1 Multigauge.

      Hi mate general rule of thumb for egt gauge is post turbo so go about 100mm off the back of the turbo and make a spot or use the already made spot (most aftermarket exhausts have the thread and spot ready to go). Boost gauges are recommended to be somewhere along the intake/intake manifold. Oil pressure gauges you can get sandwich plates that go on the block inbetween your oil filter and the block so you remove the oil filter screw the sandwich plate on then screw the oil filters onto that and your gauge screws into the sandwich plate and never had to be touched again. Hope this helped

    • @JustRaceParts

    • @JustRaceParts
      @JustRaceParts Před rokem

      YES it is the BEST practice to do so if you want to take advantage of ACCURATE Spartan AFR readings. Part of the Spartans design architecture does indeed have a ground offset used to stabilise the data readings. Please avoid using a grounds off a head unit/ sound systems! This will lead to unexpected readings from electrical interferences. Terminal 2 is best to ground off ecu ground. Feel free to call or email Just Race Parts for more info. :)

    Just wanted to ad to my earlier comment. These guys offer awesome after sales service. I’ve asked Dave a few, in my opinion, dumb questions, and he has been a great help. I’ve had this product installed for around 10 months in my TD42 Patrol, and can’t fault it. All sensors are of excellent quality, all readings are accurate (I’ve checked against workshop benchmarks) and the ability to read 10+ fields out of the box on one unobstructive screen is perfect. Best value for money mod I’ve I’ve installed on my Ute. Cheers👍👍

      Thanks for dropping back in to leave that comment Andrew. Means a lot to us and have passed onto Dave. We love seeing people do tests with our sensors compared to workshop sensors, makes us feel good that those customers know for sure how amazing these kits are and aren't just guessing from our word about accuracy. Not many do it, but we love it when customer do, as we know they truly see how amazing these little units are and for the money. Lots of exciting stuff coming from JRP in 2023 & 2024, keep an eye out. :)

    hey mate how does the odometer work off? currently dont have odometer working just seeing if this would help solve that problem

    • @JustRaceParts
      @JustRaceParts Před rokem

      It works off having a compatible speed signal being sent to the gauge. If you don't have a speed signal source, you could install one of our HALL effect speed sensors, this will generate speed and in turn OD. We are working on bringing out a GPS speed module in the new year as well that can be hooked up to our systems for simpler install for speed. ;)

    Great video. Very helpful with setup. Really happy with the whole setup. Should all setups have the time attack screen? As mine is just a straight line. Also, although I havnt got a water temp sensor installed, should I be able to see it as an option in screen setup? as I can’t see the option, but can see a few other options eg oil temp, which I also havnt installed yet. Great product, cheers

    • @JustRaceParts
      @JustRaceParts Před rokem

      Sounds like you might have the Pink Port setting in the gauge changed to Trans Temp instead of water temp, if pink port setting is changed to Trans, you won't see water show up. Time attack should show yes, I think maybe best to do a factory reset on the unit, page 61 of the manual, that should get everything back to default and water temp will be there along with time attack. ;) Reach out to our support guys if you have any issues or questions, they will get you all sorted quickly.

      Hi Tim, We have a video for the 14in1 which shows the setup and info on Diesel AFR. Really the only thing to show for the 52mm is changing the gauge from Petrol mode to Diesel. The manual does cover that, and you are more than welcome to call our support guys and ask some questions. ;) Next video coming for the 52mm is an announcement of a new feature that will be found on v1.5 model Edge temp gauges, that should be coming in the next 4-weeks. A pretty cool new feature only found on v1.5 models.

      @JustRaceParts Před 2 lety

      @@zanegleeson7922 Tech support told you to reset it for a very good reason. You said the system was displaying 30c on the screen without the sensor being connected, this isn't normal and could have been a firmware issue. The way to fix a firmware issue is to to a simple factory reset, as this will flash the firmware back to the screen so it's a fresh build of the firmware. This needed to be done to rule out the firmware being the issue, it's a simple process of elimination, so part one of that done. Tech support doesn't work on Sat, but still took the time out of their day off to reply to you, within hours of you even posting here on CZcams, and why we understand you might be frustrated, tech support were actually being a big help considering it's a long weekend and any other business you would not have got a reply until next Tue after the long weekend. Nothing is infallible and any product you buy can have issues, it's how a company deals with those issues shows what they are made of. And so far, we have replied with assistance on a day off, within hours of your inquiry, and at no point have we not shown we were here to help. So lets jump off CZcams mate, follow the normal process for dealing with any purchase where you need help and we will do just that, help. Thanks Cam, the wideband lean warning is such an amazing little feature to have in a gauge like this hey. Most of those warnings we have in the 14in1 are unlike anything else you will find in single gauges, because these kind of warnings take 2 inputs to be able to create them.
