US eradication of Native American culture in spotlight
No one is sure how many Indigenous children died in the boarding school system in the United States that was established to erase their languages, cultures and religions. But after revelations of mass graves at Canadian Indigenous boarding schools, the US secretary of the interior has announced an investigation into the boarding school programme in the US.
For more than a century, tens of thousands of Native American children were shipped off to government-run and religiously affiliated boarding schools, called "hellish institutions" by at least one expert.

GO to Europe

OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS WHAT DO NATIVES LOOK LIKE
No one likes to be recorded. It's rude. She should have asked them to stop recording her. But her anger made her go off the beaten path. So....
The lake was drained due to the us government wanting more farmland
As a trump supporter I gotta say the woman in the trump hat is an idiot
Sucks they see mestizos and europeans that way .. but i get it some mexicans dont treat indigenous people very well.
You dont speak to me like that đđ€
You natives have no problem take the white mans tax money driving on the roads the white built going into stores and malls the white man built you guy need to give this foolishness that the world owes you something because it doesnât now do something productive and go to work Iâve heard enough of your crying
Like bru u arent the only ones who were genocided
Lady your white as snow wear you going white people???đ
Is this an actual Zapotec folktale? If so, it would be good for Disney to handle.
The Lady wearing a "Trump Girl" asked that question while the lady with a pink drink talked to the camera. If anything, shouldn't she ask that state's legislature for not doing their due diligence vetting candidates for dude's office vs. asking any incumbent already elected?
I get not agreeing w thr trump supporters but bashing someone just because they ask if someone is indigenous or not is stupid. Do we assume it? Or do we ask if we do not know? And it looks like the woman asking is black. You're bashing a woman that most of us have been told suffer from lack of educational opportunities. You all need to check your privileges.
Honored to have their blood in my veins â€
More Cora please!!! đââïž
âïžthey speak plastic paddy
Are the people actually healed?
I suppose they were recording her because she was being rude before they started doing so.
Young, but wise voice here.

Im a festival director of a film festival, based in Australia, and id love to screen this beautiful film- for free- how do I get in contact with the filmmakers?
This is why they donât show native ancestry for America, only South America. Or else majority of the black population would wake up and realize they arenât actually from Africa.
Trudeau is a DIGRACE. WE ROTISKEN'RAKĂHTE(WARRIOR'S SOCIETY) ARE PREPARING. HE WILL GET HIS RUDE AWAKENING SOON. WE WILL NOT CONTINUE TO HAVE OUR TREATIES VIOLATED.
The major language families among American Indian tribes in the U.S. are Diné(Na-Dené), Macro-Algonqian, Uto-Aztecan, Siouan, Penutian, Aleutian, Iroquoisan. Macro Algonquin includes Algonquin, but also the Mvskoke tongues, including Chikhashshanompa. Algonquin isn't Old Norse. We need to stop people trying to confuse everybody with that. The similarities are purely coincidental.
@Amerindian The language here is "Cmiique iitom"; "Comcaac" is the name of the people.
That true cause we all dress different
I love đnative Indianâ€â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžđđđ
I'm a native with family with pascua yaqui
I donât get the term âindigenous peopleâ : indigenous means where a species originates from - humans are indigenous to Africa, so, what does that term say about American Indians? I have American Indian heritage, and, it does seem somewhat insulting. Also, people is plural, so, âpeoplesâ doesnât make any grammatical sense.
I'm not indigenous, but I did play this game. It definitely made me reminisce the platformer games from the PS2 era, the mythology was perfectly interwoven into the story, and the ending can definitely make you think.
Beautiful poem and strong message
"It's kind of weird that I'm the last one"...this statement made tears flow from my eyes. My dad lives in Stockton, in the heart of the former territory of the Yokuts ethnicity, of which Wukchumni is one of 60 different pre-contact tribes of related language. I stopped at a place called Orestimba on I-5, and could not help but think of the people whose meeting place that was. Much love to these women preserving the priceless linguistic heritage of indigenous California.
So, you're saying the Anasazi were absorbed by the Hopi tribe?
Probably one of the Pueblo tribes.

No wonder Mexican families be whistling all the time especially after going to the store and everyone was in different places, the dad would whistle and the fam would come together.

Anazazi was in only one location and not to the same as the cliff dwellers. Just a bunch of slave sellers
Despite being an Uto-Aztecan language, Tarahumara gives me an indigenous Amazonian language vibe with its phonology
No! You can't lose it. You must not lose it. Without the langauge Choctaw will be just 'brown' people with no language that says they are Choctaw. They will be just like everyone else. Choctaw hold onto to your language so you won't be just 'brown' ppl. I'm also talking to the light skin & to the very, dark brown skin Choctaw too.
