Life is hard in the Philippines.
Life is hard in the Philippines.
Old Mars has a had a hard week, life is hard in the Philippines. His beloved mother died this week and at the same time he was suffering from terrible toothaches that he cannot sleep so he decided to have all his upper teeth pulled out since tooth extraction is the only procedure thats free in the barangay clinic. So from little bit of savings old Mars is planning to pay it for his dentures so he can eat properly but only to be used for his mother's funeral expenses instead.
This is life for most people in the Philippines, some work hard but not even enough for food, sone struggle on and lived so tight to at least set aside tiny bit of their earnings for emergencies and any purchase plans only to be emptied on unexpected events. And it is back to zero again just work hard everyday mainly for food.

My childhod was spent in this place of Padre Valeriano Cabantan st., from 1960-1976. Our house is used to be 71-A at the back of Balanguigue Family, and beside Paulina Store. That opening corner here was known as Elyang Store to the right and infront was a Tailoring. Their used to be the Catholic Cemetery where we used to play as mischeivous kids using human skulls as balls from pantheons destroyed by robbers. From 1960s to 70s Cabantan was sparsely populated. The known families back then are namely: mercado, paez, cuenca, barro, cuenza, dela cerna, balanguigue, almario, sanchez, sarap, bronola, letrondo, and ours to name few. In 1976 after high school family moved-out to Villaba, Leyte where my mother came from. My parents sold for only P2,700. our house with bamboo fence around 1/3 of hectare, composed of main house, secondary made of wood and nipa a separate toilet and piggery house. Its rear is the perimeter solid fence 8 ft height that separate Cabantan, Barrio Luz with the sprawling Christian Seminary compound where training for priesthood.
Dai, a lot done since the 1st video showing the digging began. I am wondering---the cliff now is straight up, is it a danger of sliding down next heavy rain? Just wondering how strong that wall of dirt is and will it remain in place in heavy rain which I know your Barangay gets often?
You had seen that hill when you visited its been like that since we bought in 2003, i am not worried of landslide because i know the type of soil this hill had.
saan location po?

Don't lesson to the haters, this is a easy job ,make the workers follow what you say. Good luck
Securing permits and logistics is not a walk in the park but when they are here operating is.
That was a very smart move to start from the back. I am sure that the owner of that company did not want to lose that large project. He will keep his workers doing the correct job. Hopefully, they are careful enough to watch out for the children when backing in.
there are always a few crabs that try to spoil the party.

@AmazingPhilippines1 Kumusta Amigo, maayon hapon from the cold South Pacific regions, LoL.
Its not my first time to do such a clearing and build on the cleared land. Done it with my house and another rental house we owned, my husband knew my capabilities.👍
Unless you do it yourself in the Philippines, you can GUARANTEE it will be a schemozzle.
That is a smart idea that you are doing with that land. Unfortunately..... there was an incompetent worker at first. Good luck with the rest of it.
We pray there isn't a landslide 😢
That not this type of soil
Unfortunatly finding competent contractors is a problem world wide. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from this point on.
Saan po location ng store?

Hi there. Been there done that. We had all our documents ready for the building permit but the biggest problem was not with the documents but trying to catch the municipality engineer to sign the w for approval. He played hide and seek with us. I truely understand your predicament. We’ll keep watching your progress on this project. Good Luck. Cheers!
