I beat Morrowind twice but I still can't ENJOY the game and the only reason is the world. Most everyone mentions the uniqueness of the Morrowind world as one of the game's strongest points, but for me it's the reason I don't like the game. I love everything else though, especially the lack of quest markers. Daggerfall on the other hand is like the perfect version of Morrowind for me. (Skyrim was my first TES game)

I can't wait to be part of the early access next year. I pledge $45 to their kickstarter and its my first time donating to a Kickstarter project. I found the game very interesting, going beyond the scopes of other modern rpgs, and revitalizing ideas from Daggerfall.

Advertising this game as George Floyd is probably not the best idea.

My brother and I just beat vanilla morrowind on tes3mp yesterday. We really had a great time with it. We decided to run through it again using the morrowind rebirth mod, and it's honestly such a blast. It changes the vanilla game enough to where a new playthrough feels fresh and exciting. I highly recommended the mod, but i would hope that new players experience Morrowind unmodified with all the bugs and exploits first. We are going to run another playthrough with tamriel rebuilt too.

This game is awesome. I even have OMW nightly installed on my phone. I can connect my Xbox controller to it and I have Morrowind on the go.😂

1:23 this entire segment is so beautiful. Like, Morrowind is ofc still talked about, but beauty of this calibre in a game not currently mainstream feels like some untamed wild, like a real adventure into an undiscovered world. Many of the cities feel as awake and impactful as real world towns and yet is inside a game ripe with age where most players would not find them anyway. Again, it's that feeling that the cities were not meant explicitly for the player; they just happen to exist and are discovered. I agree with the sense of freedom you expressed for the levitation spell. That spell truly spoiled video games for me back then because most other games at the time (even today) do not let you explore the world as if it exists in real life. Seeing the beautiful world from the sky, climbing mountains and buildings with no transitions, it was the essence of childlike wonder and the freedom to deliver that wonder into a captivating experience.

Morrowind is certainly an an unforgettable experience. Even though I don't like the label of Hardcore RPG... The developers did not hold your hand in this game. Most NPCs only give you vague directions or send you off on your own. So very quickly you end up making personal experience that is unique to other players. It's rated very well for good reason, 23 years on still worth playing

I agree - these younger generations need to read a fkg book. It's shocking to learn how uniformed most are, and a quick glance in any Comments section reveals that almost no one can even construct a proper sentence. I didn't think I could get more cynical.

Why does it look so incredibly bad? Film grain? In 2024?! Also it looks like "magic system" is a stretch goal that they aren't going to reach... Lowest tier to get the game is $40 (fourty f-ing bucks now to get a game, maybe, in years from now!). My guess is this is never coming out.

I'm not sure I ever played dagger falls I played Skyrim and the one before that. I think I might like it I have already supported it but not sure I'll be able to play it unless it comes to consoles. But my favorite is Kingdom come deliverance and Red Dead redemption two.

Make an option for 3rd person and I would support:)

Thank you so much for the coverage and the support! One quick correction, the world is procedurally generated, but it will be the same seed for each playthrough. This was also the case in Daggerfall. So each player starts with the exacts same map and world state. Taking advantage of the procedural generation though, we can have some things within the world change depending on the events of the playthrough, such as a city caught in the middle of a faction war being burned to the ground or potentially parts of a dungeon becoming flooded. Thus we can add some dynamicness to the world and keep new playthroughs feeling fresh. Thanks again for the coverage, this was a great video!

First time I ever backed something before... did it yesterday. I'm pretty stoked about it, but I have some specific doubts about features listed on their page. The virtual game master idea sounds like it could lead to some pretty terrible and immersion breaking experiences, dragging down the quality of the game. Machine learning is not even remotely ready to give too much control over to in a game. Not only that, but this game is designed to be played for hundreds of hours, and machine learning simply doesn't have the ability to maintain that much context throughout the game save. Not even trillion dollar companies have solved that. I would rather the money go into developing more and more quality quest content. Something I am really excited about is the size. I know it doesn't make a good game, but if it is a genuine effort to travel like it was in the older ES games (yeah you could buy a boat trip), then you're more invested in exploring as much of each area as you can before you move on. There's a ton of opportunity there to make cities full of dense content worth making a voyage to see. 500,000 sq km is 4 times the size of my actual State, which is amazing. Probably going to have to dedicate an SSD for this game though 😆

The climbing is indeed awesome... I had a grin ear to ear the first time I saw that. It's great. Friendly fire is also cool. I wonder if it is something players will need to avoid in co-op... I could see it going either way but am personally hopeful friendly fire is something the players will have to plan for as well. As for the proc-gen world... My understanding is that OLG will proc-gen the world using seeds so the starting state of the world should always be the same but player choices and events that occur during a playthrough can alter the game world so that some things may change from one playthrough to the next or even within the same playthrough. E.G. Farms or villages being destroyed, the control of certain territories changing from one faction to another... stuff like that. It's really kind of the best of both worlds... You get a huge world created by proc-gen but that recieves handcrafted touches to make things distinct and then you do still get differences in the world from one playthrough to the next but more based on what a player does and how world events occur than from a different game world being generated from the start, No two playthroughs should be same. It was cool to hear your thoughts and I wholeheartedly agree with pretty much all of your feelings on TWR. It's going to be the RPG so many of us have been waiting for and I think an RPG that so many will not even realize they wanted until they play it. Sorry for the wall of text. I get excited thinking of the game and considering the possibilities.

You're right. Most triple A games nowadays only focus on graphics. The ones that have good gameplay and story are few and far between. Latest one I really liked though was Alan Wake 2 (2023). Remedy has such a way with worldbuilding.

I don't know how much they turned down or how many times but I was in the discord a few back when they were talking about walking away from one potential investor...they did not get too much into to but my understanding is that these people actually care about their vission and they are not just trying to get a quick cash grab from just anybody that comes along waving money. They want to work with people that will give them the freedom to create their vission any realize the goals that they had for daggerfall but were limited by technology at that time. I am most excited about the lore of this game...and I can tell there is going to be a lot of moral ambiguity.

I've heard many times people had said there are a lot of cheaters because the only anti cheat is "report". I didn't want to believe it but I think I've experienced something like this at least once. So ill just put this here. If anyone is suspicious, report. Don't be conservative like I have been. they adjusted normal dungeons so you can bring almost all gear into normals. Very nice

ive played quite a bit, and since the steam release i havent even touched any feature from the paid version besides the additional character slots and transfering gear easily. i really wish they added 2-3 more character slots to the free version though, think that would be huge for people to try out other classes without having to delete the one they have been playing on. also actually i havent even been to hell or the abyss from the new map yet even in normal lol. - unless they nerfed bard its actually super strong for solo play. just very hard to play right so the skill cap is quite high. pretty much every class atm has several ways to play them thats different (except barb lol) and even more build options will be available once class tree's comes back.
