I played this for about 9 hours right when it first released in early access and haven't touched it since. Alot has changed from what I've seen so far.
I will not be continuing this playthrough until the devs revert some certain changes, or add a toggle or allow access to the ini files. When I first played 3 years ago, the corpses and weapons would stay permanently on the ground. Now they disappear after 30 seconds. A dev answered me on steam and said that he would relay it to the team to see if we could access the ini files. That was one of my 2 main praises for the game. It was very immersive, and gave a sense of accomplishment and also let you know what areas you have been in. He said it was for "optimization". So because of this I don't really want to play the game until this is fixed.
Lo and behold, he got back to me and gave me some settings to put in the ini, and set the values to whatever. Here they are: [/script/praest.cleanupdevsettings] MaxDeadEnemiesAllowed=15 MaxTimeBeforeTimeOut=45.000000

Also you used to be able to light the braziers, which now you can't it seems :(
