What I really like about Kratos talking to Mimir about the troubles he has with his previous family is that Mimir doesn't offer anything in ways of closure or trying to convince him of anything. He just.. listens. That's a very important aspect of things like therapy. Sometimes it's not an answer or solution you need for trauma you have. Sometimes you just need someone to listen.

I don't know how to feel about them reframing kratos' past deeds as secretly heroic. I understand that there was good in his actions. It feels like in some of these, they were trying to excuse his actions under the guise of acceptance. But i think that was the point.

I hate this is how they showed his past to new players.I wanted him to sit atreus down and tell him about his past to say this is why im so hard on you so you dont make the same mistakes i did.Then end it with we must be better.

Mimir and Tyr watch Kratos fight with his Grandfather Kronos would be pretty funny.

The writing is just brilliant. In the real mythology Wife of Loki is Angrboda and they both have fenrir and Jormangandur as children. In GOW universe they wrote it just fucking brilliantly, fenrir dies in the hands of Loki (Atreus) and the soul is then transferred to Garm’s body so fenrir is reborn by Loki, that makes him the father and later Fenrir is handed of to Angrboda and then she looks over Fenrir, that makes Angrboda the mother (Kind of). Now coming to Jormungandr, the soul of Giant Jormangandur is put into the soulless snake by Loki and Angrboda together (Kind of) so that makes them both the parents of Jormungander. So this way the mythology and the game are the same as Loki and Angrboda as parents of Fenrir and Jormungander. Just Brilliant writing. Brilliant to the power million. <3

My only gripe with the story is that Atreus keeps pushing for the war, I mean Ragnarok and keeps lying to himself that he only wants answers and when HIS actions causes death and despair he says he never wanted this and I think it was a big missed opportunity for Kratos to tell him that this is what war with the gods bring. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe I just don't like Atreus in this game 😅

Love seeing Kratos being critical of his spartan training. Sparta was so cruel and hard on its men that it effectively kind of destoryed itself. Cant make babies or raise families for the next generation if youre always expected to march off and die in some foreign land in a war.

Young kratos is supposed to be 7.6 foot and old kratos is 6.4 but in the final part of flash backs young kratos appers shorter than old kratos

I feel like a third game telling us a story from the perspective of the giants would be nice. Getting to know Odin, Thor, Mimir before Odin tortured him, who Jormungandr was and why he had a personal issue with Thor. So much potential missed.

While I do hope we get to see a more darker chaotic side of Atreus and him truly turning to Loki, I don't hope he goes totally evil. And Loki from Norse Mythology was never fully evil nor good, just set on creating chaos and he was more a a trickster than pure villain.

I think they purposely cut out the part where Atreus lies to Sinmara so she sacrifices herself starting Ragnarok, because of the fact it will foreshadow him turning heel, which might happen in the future

One of the beautiful parts about Valhalla is that it also shows how much Santa Monica studios and the people running it (Barlog for example) have grown and matured as well.

Hey Jon i know its probably already known by now but,faye had to have known the soul transfer spell,she most likely puy herself in the leviathan axe which could explain why she died so suddenly to kratos and atreus. Her physical body could be in alfheim while her soul is in the axe

This is complete bullshit. 1 new weapon? Not using the weapon of a god you kill? People expected how it would play? You are game developers, your job is to bring these concepts to life creatively and throughly. Was Santa Monica not creative enough to build an unexpected Mjolnir?

I think they should have taken more time to develop the game or split it into two because the first half of the game was ok but the other half and especially last 2-3 hours of the game felt kinda rushed

Kratos screwed over that captain boat three times 😂 Once when he killed him, another one in the afterlife, and he was summoned as a spirit during the fight against the barbarian captain

I know the Atreus levels in Ragnarök were loathed (I know I wasn’t much of a fan), but I hope that in future games, if Atreus returns, he can learn about and possibly meet his half-sister and/or stepmother. I just would like to see more connective tissue with the Greek and Norse sagas to go along with whatever mythology Sony Santa Monica decides to explore next. Personally, I’m hoping for an exploration of the Mesoamerican mythologies.

If he meant being more literate is fine. Less use of grammar or a language to do anything is much better than literacy. But fighting battles is not about life. These "gods" have problems and its fictional. Its unreal and hurtful to watch. Its like Hobbit compared to the original lord of the ring movies. There is just too much clutter and negativity in these games that don't get what gaming is anymore on ps5 or any PlayStation. That is the reason I play Runescape for a hour or so. These god of war games make very little sensibility. They try to get you to know something that is barely about life from Greek fiction. Runescape makes actual sense for a game that is similar and familiar to life.
