Hey Ezy, Hope this finds u well. There r a lot of films that r just a must see. This is one of 1000s. Being chronically ill with 11 drs for a decade, I dont trust them because they dont look deeper. Treat the symptoms and dont look deeper for the cause. Shes not possessed by any demons, quite the opposite. Cant imagine going thru a crucifixion wounds of Jesus. The quote “The Kingdom of God is inside you, and all around you, not in mansions of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there, lift a stone and you will find me.” from the gospel of Thomas, it spoke against the church and was removed from the KJV like many others. Why I read the Apocrypha (The original Bible). Never just be satisfied of being spoon fed info always search out the facts for urself. Any question I can help u with Im here. Oh wow I forgot all about this movie !!

There were no demons in the movie, the priest died without passing on the scroll ... remember the parcel the mother sent Frankie - it connected her with the priest , allowing him to continue communicating beyond death through Frankie. You think a priest would value Frankie's life more, but he valued the word of god over an individual human soul and to him she was just a vessel to use ... hence was he any better than tthe church who was hiding the 'words of the living jesus' ?? ... The fire at the end was to show the presence of god - like joseph and the burning bush in the bible. Much of the modern church became about politic and power (esp give scandals that came out in 90s). Some people believe that two discoveries after WW2 of ancient scriptures hidden by early christians (probably from the early church when it centralised power in Rome) was sent by god, to help the world heal and change the path of destruction it was on. Whether the Gnostic text or Gnostic themselves are good or bad, remains unclear but the church itself rejects these texts. The words quoted are from the gnostic gospel of Thomas - and I quite beautiful ... but if the kingdom of god is within you and all around you - what is the church or priests for? I am really glad with the cut you viewed; in the other version shown in other countries, when Andrew collects Frankie from the holy fire and takes her to the garden, after he says "Stay with me," you see her bleeding out from the wounds she received and when the bird flies she dies in his arms. They filmed some additional scenes to provide a more ambiguous ending, where the bird flies signifies her redemption and she sits up to walk through the garden, renewed from her ordeal. I love this movie - it's too beautiful and faith-affirming to be scary. Also, Patricia Arquette is a certified scream queen, and Gabriel Byrne a scream king. Thanks for covering this!! I saw this movie when it came out at the drive-in with my parents when I was 8 years old. The only part they tried to block me from seeing was when Regan was stabbing herself with the crucifix. Maybe not the best parenting decision, but things were different back then. Now 50 yrs later I get to watch you young people react to this. You did a great job btw, but I do enjoy seeing the difference in generations. No, people working hard in the desert didn't have bottles of water. Smoking indoors, in a hospital was normal. And child actors did scenes that could never happen today. All is probably for the better, but I still get a kick out of the shock.

Went to the drive-in when this came out and, to this day it's still my favorite movie ever.

In 93 went to see Groundhog Day which was sold out so opted for Fire in the Sky and still talking about it. Most overlooked classic . Travis Walton is a very believable genuine guy. Of course like most bio pics it takes liberties with the actual events. The Aliens were not violent with him and any ressarch done on him he was not awake for.

I love how you knew it was 4th of July

This is one of the greatest movies ever made. The book was great. This movie was so great it withstood Keanu Reeves acting which was the sole negative reaction from critics. A few points:' 1: Mina is the re-incarnation of Elizabeta and Van Helsing is the re-incarnation of the priest in the opening scene. You will notice Anthony Hopkins played both characters. 2: The carriage rider who picked up Jonathan from the Borgo pass was Dracula. 3: The first vampyre who rose from the bed to seduce Jonathan was played by Monica Bellucci. It was her second film appearance. 4: Dracula through out the film takes up different physical forms. None of what you watched was a dream. At end it is plain to see that Dracula has to come grips with his destiny and wants his soul to rest in peace. Great movie and the book is even better!!

As for who cleans up the spit and messes, in the 70s and 80s the parents made us older sisters clean up after the boys. The whole neighborhood was like family kids runnin' in and out all hours. We were all out from dawn to dusk doin' something. Now as for the assault u were worried about, it wasnt a thing. Women didnt have rights in the 50s Not til 1972, when women burnt their bras, could get away from demestic violence, went to work, opened bank accounts, etc. I was a preteen so I didnt have many bras, lmao. Actually it wasnt til 2020 that the last state radified it. That state being Virginia. The Beast aka Hercules is on giant, loveable fur baby. This is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time (Among other greats: The Abyss, Inception, Fight Club, Terminator 2, Les Miserables, The Illusionist, Forrest Gump, Signs, The Hunt for Red October, and Contact). I'm glad you reacted to it. Good reaction too. Worth a Sub. Most people seem to love the Prestige more than the Illusionist (since they came out around the same time), but this one is just on another level. The music, acting, writing & visuals. I know im super late but once you understand why this ost is so sad it become 10 times even more sad. Gherman the first hunter is the VERY FIRST hunter to suffer endless hunters nightmare you die in the nightmare and you simply just wake up again even death can not allowe you to escape so at the end of the game gherman asks you if you would want him to free you ( submit your life ) - i think if a hunter kills a hunter then theyr nightmare is over - if you dont submit your life then the boss fight starts but most people think its just that but in reality the creator of this game wanted us to understand that you yourself are trying to free gherman from his long nightmare freeing him and taking his place in the endless hunters nightmare 😭

I've watched this movie several times, and someone always says "wait, you're not supposed to move someone after a car accident ". Truth is, you have to do a super quick risk assessment. This was well before people had cell phones, so she'd have to leave him in the freezing cold, find a phone somehow, and wait God knows how long to direct emergency responders to his exact location, where they'd almost certainly find a frozen corpse. Same with fires. You don't leave a victim to certainly burn to death for fear of a neck injury, you drag them out. She was batshit crazy, but she was a trained nurse who (initially) made a proper assessment and response

One of my favorite childhood movies, even today. I still remember enough of it that I can quote most of it. And I always loved the soundtrack. The minute-long sting of music at the end of the big chase (the slow-mo sequence) is still one of those pieces of music that isn’t very scary or iconic, but to my young mind, it was one of the most nerve-wracking pieces of music I had ever heard.

After watching Newts Tale on CZcams, I learned a lot about what happened before Ripely, and the soldiers arrived to help out. But I do wish Burkes death would have stayed in the movie too. His death in the comic book was perfect justice. But as always, the books have all the details, and the movies leave out.
