Selene was an adult during Lucian’s rebellion. In the second movie Tanis told her that after Lucian escaped, her father was too much of a risk for Viktor given he built William’s prison and Lucian had the key to it. That’s why her family was killed and you’ll see in her memories, she’s an adult at that point.
I remember reading somewhere that Victor has something called borderline personality disorder. That could explain at least part of why he is the way he is.

I think some people, myself included, would have mentioned that Selene wasn’t in this one, but didn’t want to drop any spoilers. Also, I don’t know if you caught it, but Tanis was the one in the last movie who had been exiled by Selene… with the Lycan bodyguards. He has always done anything that would benefit himself, with little to no regard for anyone else. I completely missed it the first time I watched this. Edit: Just finished the reaction. I’m glad you liked it! I love Selene, but this one is my favorite. The acting, the writing, the graphics… everything about this one is great.
