Worn this daily since 2008, rebuilt once, have it in the pool, etc., plenty of times. Such a great watch that gets comments from watch guys all the time even though my bezel looks like it dates from WW1 and the crystal isn't much better!

SEIKO SARB035/033 is as good a value as ROLEX, though the price is 1/30th. Swiss mechanical watches are ultra-super bubble and only a brand scam.

My 16600 is now 20 years old and I wear it every day; it is simple, robust, tough, classic and I like the fact that I never encounter anyone else wearing one (Submariners are a dime a dozen). Finally, Rolex ruined their line with the introduction of the maxi cases and dials - they should have left a classic shape alone.

I just bought one of these. What are you using for a strap seen here? I think I'd like to have a stainless strap, but I'm not sure exactly which one would fit.

I purchased one a couple of weeks ago for a beater watch, I lucked in to one for about 55 dollars. It's keeping really good time for an automatic. It looks great and I can wear it doing just about anything. As for homage watch that's cool, it's not a copy and they have their own touches. They have the Invicta name engraved on the side, the name on the front, on the crown, and their own design on the second hand, but it doesn't come off as gaudy. I think they're just proud to make an affordable watch with good quality. It's impressive in this price range. I used to think Invicta just made large tasteless watches that didn't keep time. I was at least partially wrong; they do keep time and they have many choices. I may buy another one..

I have this watch in oxblood red and wear it nearly every day. You should not wind it up totally. Just a few turns and slowly to not destroy the movement. Just wear it when it started to run.

Great vid, chuffed to bits… I wear a 36mm explorer on 6.75in wrist; easily big enough. Note 904L is notoriously easy to scratch compared to proprietary steels, not the other way around worst luck!

I have both of these - sort of; 6306-7001 and SRPE93. I just made two mods to my SRPE; Kanji day wheel and swapped the second hand for a SKX173 second hand to match the 6306 lollipop end. Both great watches. Great video - thank you!

Greetings from 2024. Great video - thank you. I’ve always been a Seiko fan since I was a kid. My grandfather’s daily was a 6117 world timer, which he eventually gave to me. I just picked up two turtles; a new SRPE93 and a 1979 issue 6306-7001. I absolutely love the 6306. I haven’t serviced it yet and I don’t know the history as I bought if off eBay from Japan. But it’s still running fine and only loses 14 seconds a day. I also recently bought a 7548-7000 from Japan. Also haven’t serviced it yet and it’s only running +2 sec a day.

The 2500 Seamasters were all superior to their successors. This is the finest example of the Aqua Terra - not least because it doesn't have the wave dial. It's a much cleaner aesthetic.

The flaw is in our thinking that the lume color is automatically “vintage” rather than cream. This alternative tone allows less glaring contrast to certain style of watches. Perhaps initially some makers use this tone to simulate vintage elements, but now a days this tone is an option to soften up some design elements

Sorry mini-people: the Turtle MUST BE the big boy. Doesn´t matter if it´s a traditional Turtle, a king or a vintage one. It´s a tank. A real tool watch full of legacy and history. =)
