Um, the 6R15 and 6R35 BOTH run at 21,600 bph, they didn't slow it down to get the additional 20 hours, they used a different mainspring to gain the additional power reserve, most likely from the 8L35 which does have the higher beat rate but only a 50 hour power reserve. So think of the 6R35 as a 6R15 with an 8L35 mainspring.

I like most of what a Seiko did with this latest MM200 except for their classic alignment issues (as usual), uneven lume application, stamped outer clasp, and 21600bph movement. For a watch at this price, they need to fix they’re alignment issues and the watch needs better lume application, machined clasp, and a 28,800bph movement.

With these demand it should be priced atleast 1,700 retail. Lets be honest seiko are usually discounted so these issues kinda negate on its pricing. I had this mm200 for 800usd brand new so im not even complaning.

A dealer I contacted pretty told me they cant guarantee alignment on a 1200 watch. IMHO Seiko is pretty much telling customers to live and accept their QC issues as normal.

Thank you for that size comparison. I wish more watch reviews did that. It is so helpful because bezel width is more important that case width.

I wonder why Seiko would allow bezel alignment issues on a $1,000+ watch? Considering the Japanese are known to be perfectionists, I never understood this.. surely it can't be that hard to fix?

  • @Bugster987

I like it a lot. Great size and look. Had it in the basket several times but haven’t checked out. Think I’m still enjoying my Willard so much I don’t want one of these to cross over and step on it’s toes.

The lug to lug of 48.8mm + the additional length from the end links make this simply too large for me.
I am not going to spend $1K on a watch with alignment issues and hollow end links that do not match closely to the shape and texture of the case. Seiko needs to fix this if they are serious about going up market.

    • @e28forever30

I prefer this case design, with those lugs, but I prefer the dial colour of the SBP143. Still waiting for my perfect seiko watch, so I might stick with my SBDC061 for now.
