Excellent, thanks for posting
Nice! thank you .
Fun idea! I just finished a project where I used several freeze-frames to transition from one video scene to another. I used a simple fade so that the freeze-frame fades as the new clip begins. My only sad discovery was that PowerDirector's built-in "Freeze-Frame" function inserts the snapshot into a gap. If you have audio, this results a a silence. Pretty useless IMHO.
As usual you are incredible. I have to try that right now. I've used PhotoDirector for unblurring pictures but I was flying blind before.
Have fun!
Personally I find it so much better and far more flexible to create and use a fx track rather than drop an Effect directly onto a Video track
I like the fx track also, however when I have upto 9 tracks with all kinds of things happening the fx track applies upwards so it gets in the way sometimes. This was a way for a quick play with the magnify. Although I have to say that it doesn't work very well when you get to the edge of the screen. Enjoy your day. Harvey.
Cyd in the USA This was a super video. I'm just a home movie user. The idea of "mix and match" with the templates never occurred to me. Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Very cool ! TY !
Another excellent tutorial 😂 Harvey. Keep them rolling. Love the channel.
Thanks, will do!
Hold control key and drag to maintain aspect ratio! Wow. One of the recent updates changed it and I didn’t know holding the control would do that. Great tips!
Glad to help!
As usual 👍. I must have subscribed after this one was released. So now I find myself back tracking to find what I missed. I don't see myself using body effects very often. But what was important in this tut was how you adjusted or modified them.
Hello Chris. I don't think I have ever used body effects, same has those stickers. They are probably for the younger generation. Lol
@@pmhelsinki This recent July 4th I recorded Theodore and Quentin Roosevelt reenactors speaking at Sagamore Hill (The TR family home). Somehow I can't see him glowing. BTW: One of his quips during this Independence Day speech. " For you Brits in the audience, why aren't you working?" lol
added 👍, Add to this tut with a way to start the timer at zero (zed if you prefer) later in the video.
Hey up Chris. That never came to mind, but now you mention it. Mmm..
Thanks for another great tutorial. Took me about five hours to get a handle on your 30 minute episode. But I did learn a lot about the various buttons. One thing I can't get my head around is how to adjust a selection once it's been made. When I selected the windows I realised I was a bit out but couldn't move or adjust the selection. Thank goodness for Ctrl+Z. Am I missing something? Or is it something that needs to be done in the edit section of Photo Director? Also, do you have a "Join" function on your YT page? I really appreciate the depth of your tutorials and can see they take up much of your time.
Hello Tony. Thanks for the comment. OK, selections once made can be adjusted with the second tool down from the top right the move tool and then you can resize. While making selections if you go a bit wrong just go to the right under the brush area and choose the minus sign and remove the selection that is wrong reclick the plus sign and redo it. You can also do one selection at a time on its own layer and when you have everything ok, just select them all and merge them. As for a 'join' button I don't have one, I am not that popular,. I wll give it some thought. Enjoy your day.
I use Pan and Zoom a lot and love it. When first selected it shows many preset patterns plus the option to create your own. I always use the option and then you get the screen that you show. Key frames can be added much sooner than you show by using the frame forward button. You obviously do not understand how this works so your tutorial is misleading.
Hello. As you can see from the video as much as try I am not able to add a key frame any earlier. I have tried all ways possible but to no avail. Something in my system or a bug is stopping me from adding keyrames, other people like yourself dont seem to have any problems, and as yet I have still not found a solution. So there is no misleading info only problem solving. I was hoping that someone else may have some idea as to why this is happening.
*Master!*
*Wow, Excellent didactics!* _Thanks._
Glad you liked it!
I bow before the pd master and your magnanimous use of the tool!
Lol. Give over, you'll have me want to reveal all my secrets. ;->
I tried to import an MP4 4K video today from my Sony A7IV and it would not accept it
Good morning. That is weird. First thing I would try is take the video out of the camera and put it in your downloads on your computer, then retry to upload it into PowerDirector. It sounds like it could be a no access rights to file. It should'nt have any problems with mp4 files. I have never seen this b4. Another question is the file corrupt? can you play it on your pc?
Just a side note is the file a 10bit mp4? PowerDirector does not support 10bit files. Tried this myself with my Canon R7, and no. I just wept, even with all the updates Cyberlink does it will not support 10bit raw footage.
I see u r a fan of the paranormal, i.e. ghosts. lol This is trick. These commands you show are also useful to execute other commands and tools, another reason I like your vids. The rain cracked me up.
Lol, I got a good belly laugh out of the rain as well.
Really interesting that Harvey. Something else to get my teeth into, PowerDirector, not the fish. Thanks again for enlightening me.
Ha ha. Have fun.

My first laugh was when you said 2 and held up 3 fingers at 0:15 lol At least now I know u r not an AI robot! lol

A lot to absorb.... but I will experiment until I got it down ! I stopped the tutorial video every few seconds to write down the steps... so I have step by step instructions to follow. I love your tutorials. Always more than the basic things. HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
Good morning. I write down programming and advanced masking stuff has well, and then I practice each area until it stays in my memory. Enjoy your day.
I agree with the other commenter in that I haven’t used it in so long I had forgotten about it. I should incorporate it more in my videos.
I always learn from you. Thank you so much !
My pleasure!
Been ages since I used collage designer in a video. Almost to the point that I forgot about it. Your tut was a good reminder.
Another great tutorial. Many thanks. Only very minor problem is using 720p resolution. On my 26" monitor it comes out rather fuzzy. But thanks for taking the time to get these up. There's so much in this software I wouldn't know about if not for your posts.
Thanks for the info! I will check up on the resolution, but I always produce at 4k. I will keep you informed if I find out why its getting downgraded.
OK, I have found a link to something that may help. support.google.com/youtube/answer/71674?hl=en
@@pmhelsinki Never knew that before. I'll put that down to my being so excited to see each new tutorial you put on.
Ok, so it seems that there are a lot of factors as to why it plays only 720p. A lot of it as to do with internet speed and youtube. If you go and search for ' why does youtube only play at 720p' you will get the answers. I looked at my personal accont and the vids play at 720p so I guess I'm getting limited as well. I will change my future vids down to HD from now on and see if it helps a little.
Ahh, so we are creating mist in PhtoDirector and not PowerDirector, that got me
Ha ha, just testing to see if any one noticed.... Sorry for the typo, has been fixed.

Nice video and easy to follow explanation. Could I replace the movie in the template you used with one of my own clips? And how easy/difficult is this to do ? Thanks for sharing.

I loved this tutorial. Opened up a lot of possibilities I was unaware of. I just played around with it and substituted one of my original videos for the template video. Now I once again will be up most of the night creating. THANKS AGAIN!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent info. Never knew you could cross match content, Thanks for your work, this is really valuable.

First I wasn't aware of the assorted intros available. And the idea to maneuver them "a la cart" is brilliant.
Really interesting that Harvey. Worked on PD alongside the tutorial. Wasn`t aware of this. Learned a new trick today. Keep them coming my friend.
Next week should have something for landscape photos in PhotoDirector, if I can get my idea to work that is. Lol

So just got pd24...when I produce a wmv file the audio is choppy ,,,help
Good morning. Not a good start right, OK choppy sound is so very broad lets start at the beginning. Before you produce the file did you play it in your view to see if it was working? Produce it as a mp4 file and see if that helps, now check that your pc drivers are up to date, use a different playback programme and see if that helps something like VLC. Are there any competing background processes causing the problem. Play your file on a different pc if possible and see if its the same problem. Other than those mentioned I'm at a loss. I have never had any sound problems. Also when making your video make sure the producing video has the same attributes for ex. 25fps or 30fps, if the attributes are different this will cause all kinds of problems.
@pminhelsinki yes hi..so since I messaged u,,,I have a few wmv files and its seems to be just that 1 so far...it plays fine in the preview and plays fine in media player...bit weird
OK, I had someone in the states with the same problem on one of his sound files as well. There is nothing I can help with has he said that sometimes the sound files just dont record well or they don't copy well, a bug on sound files I guess. Mixing from different sources will always come with problems, especially if they are done with say mac and android or pc and mac. Has sound is not my forte I am limited in how I can help to look where the problem lies. Enjoy your day.
Hi which version of pd is this? And do u experience crashes ?
Good morning. This is PD365 the latest version, I upgrade all the time so that I can see what's coming and hopefuly give intuitive tutorials on the new stuff. Has for crashes, not really. Very rarely and they are of my own doing, when I'm trying to do some crazy stuff.Lol.
@pminhelsinki so I'm looking at pd 2024 ,,is that the same as 365 just not subscription? A lot of people are complaining about it so asking ur opinion?
You are correct. I started using pd 2020 and then moved up to a subscription based version. I never had any problems, and still don't.
@@pmhelsinki so what do u advise me to do ?
Ok. Rather than say buy pd2024 that would'nt be fair. Think what it is that you are wanting to do first, edit your videos or learn editing? Even if it's just edit your videos a little later in the future you may want to edit sound or do better colour grading, and then of course you may want to edit some photos. So price wise €70's just for the pd2024 seems like a good deal, a subscribtion for €129 which is what I pay for here in Finland is the better deal because of all the other very usefull programmes. If money is tight pd2024 will get you a long way, especially if you follow my tutorials...hint hint. Lol If you can afford the subscription for one year buy it, there is soo much fun to be had with the other programmes as well.
Absolutely brilliant that Harvey. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good job, Harvey. Thank you. PhotoDirector tutorials on CZcams are few and far between.
More to come!
Very Impressive
If you use a photo of an island it becomes very surreal.
When you are resizing, even though you have switched aspect ratio off, it will still maintain the shape that will keep the pixel sizing. In 16:9, the pixels are 1.5 instead of 1 (square pixels). Otherwise you would end up with a stretched effect which isn't what you want.
Yeah, however switching off the aspect ratio should allow you to change the outline shape to what ever I want. Another subscriber mentioned that they have no problems at all. So something on my PC is causing the glitch that I have shown. And it's driving me crazy trying to find it, Luckily I don't use the pan and zoom as I can do it in keyframing so there is a work around.
Are you really in Yorkshire? I'm originaly from Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
@@pmhelsinki I am originally from Sheffield but moved to SW Scotland, very close to the D&G border about 12 years ago. I thought you were from around that area. There are a lot of Lancashire/Yorkshire peeps in the village and local area.
I rewatched this video...stopping it multiple times to write down each and every step. Took me a very long time. BUT IT PAID OFF!!!! I saved my project as a phi file and my word "Pollyanna" as a png file and then went back in the phi file to change Pollyanna into a different word... and it worked. Going to use this PHI file a lot!!! HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!!!!!.
Glad you liked it, if you do one big letter at a time and bring them into powerdirector, you can have a different video show through each letter maybe for a family intro. Looks super cool. Enjoy your day.
Hi Thank you for your video. I'm experiencing a similar issue. with the size of the screen when is exported. Normal ratio is 16:9 after exported the screen is small in the upper left corner?
I'm having same problem. The video is shown on the upper left corner after being produced. Did you solve this problem?
Nope
@@TreasureTrunkTeam I couldnt find the reason but it is produced great now without any problems after updating.
Wow. Gave it 👍 #4. Learned more about PHD's possibilities.
Great!
