Is there any way to add "robotic" glitches to the video that sync with the audio?

Good morning.
I would first unlink the sound and video file, then mark the areas of the sound clip that I want to change using the keyboard M. Use the knife to cut the beggining and ending area, copy that area. Go to the next track down and paste a copy there, and use the copy for messing around with robotic glitch. That way you wont mess up the synced sound file.
