In this video, I'm making a storage case for organizing my huge amount of drill bits! Full plans with all dimensions are available at shopwwmm.com/ on a pay-what-you-want basis.
Five Main Reasons to Make This Drill Bit Case:
• Organization: The case allows for neat organization of drill bits by size and type, making it easier to find the right bit quickly without rummaging through a cluttered drawer.
• Efficiency: Having a well-organized case can save time during projects, as it minimizes the effort spent searching for the right bit, especially when working under time constraints.
• Customization: Building your own case means you can customize the layout and size to perfectly fit your specific collection of drill bits, including accommodations for unusual sizes or specialty bits.
• Aesthetic Appeal: Using a high-quality wood like cherry and applying a fine finish not only makes the drill bit case functional but also a visually appealing addition to your workshop.

What dictates which plans are pay-what-you-want versus a set price? I understand if you are not willing to share that magic sauce, but I am curious since the other woodworkers I follow set a price for all of their plans. You're still sharing some of your plans for free which is generous.

Nice storage project. I like to use "infrastructure" projects like this to experiment with finishes. Thus the collection of storage solution projects in my shop looks like a rainbow of various stains, milk paints, spray lacquer, Osmo polyoil, clear polyurethane, etc. etc.

Nice. Simple. elegant and useful. Maybe it's time I got rid of those half-dozen plastic drill-bit cases that always seem to be missing the one size of drill bit I need at any given moment and put ALL the bits in one place! And at the same time, I can use up some of those odd little pieces of hardwood that I haven't been able to throw away because "They might come in handy some day".

I ended up with a new table saw. - Japanese flat saw, a frame strap and a forstner bit, some other stuff too, lol😅 but my wife got her painting framed and I got some cool stuff and am planning a few other projects now. Honestly I’ve been putting off the table saw for 10 years and this was a good excuse thanks!

Biscuit joiners were introduced to me specifically as a tool that is useful for helping butt joints last longer without warping, not to make them stronger. They said that the biscuit should be just a little bit lose to help keep things in alignment when the wood expands and contracts. I have not seen evidence online of anyone else using them like that, but maybe everyone is using them wrong xD

Why do you have a pentagram on your wall? Are you aware of what that is? You need to get rid of that unless you want evil spirits in your life. Read the Bible, learn about what that is, you will see how evil it is and want to destroy it.

7 years later and this hasn't aged a bit, well maybe the music... There is so much good information from someone that must have made hundreds of those. A mistake everyone miss is squeezing those clamps hard one by one. Steve is 100% right: little by little, and go thru all clamps in a pattern, you may have to loosen one to get another right. I have also to command the making of the video, specifically the editing of the steps-chapters involved, in their chronological order. One of the key to success is making sure all sides of boards that touches another need to be cut a perfect 90 degrees. An easy way to achieve this is just ripping an 1/8" off; it squares the rounded corners and set a true 90 edge.

Nope. I have beighbors who grew up in the same suburban areas where we now live. I on the other hand grew up with a single dad and we barely scraped by alot of the times With that being said whenever ive had neighbors ask to borrow my backpack blower, or a saw, or any of my scaffolding i nicely turn them down and i start thinking about my dad having to head on down to the pawn shop to pawn something to pay the rent, or buy us school clothes or have money to give us so we could go on a school field trip or something. It always amazes me how these neighbors of mine who grew with plenty of everything just never have money to buy their own tools
