Well I do that cause I’m in fast current if I would just push the release and turn clicker on that current in this river will keep pulling and pulling it down stream but I get what your saying I should have demonstrated a lil more in my videos why I do that idk if you’ve ever fished the Scioto river or if you heard of it but there’s a lot of current in it all year long even when it’s at its lowest stage there’s a lot of creeks that feed into this river which causes fast current

@FirstCastAngling ahh ok I understand.. I was hoping you knew about it .. but I have met quite a few people who don't... I live in South Carolina about 45 miles from Santee Cooper Lake system... it's an amazing fisherie I hope you didn't think I was just being a a..ho.. I'll look it up .. and congratulations on 1k ... we have a small channel also .. we do storage units.. channel is called Storage Bratz .. my son and I are considering changing up and adding some catfishing and maybe a few hunting videos..

@FirstCastAngling heck I was just up by you first week of June.. In Massury Ohio . We came from south Carolina to Massury stayed a few days went to LaCrosse Wisconsin.. stayed 6 days there and back to Massury 3 more days and back home ... maybe next time we make the trip up I'll Tru n look you up .. and we can make collaboration video ... always awesome to meet fellow youtubers and even more importantly fellow outdoorsman

Yea I’ve caught em with just the line before sometimes they won’t let go and if u let me run forever eventually they will get the hook in the mouth or swallow it

Yea I never tried using them bells really might have to at some point I’ve been using the foam board for years now and it’s always done me good and I watch my poles pretty often and don’t ever walk very far from them especially at the river

It’s for when I get a bite on the rod cause that reel doesn’t have a clicker it’s mainly for night time but I just throw em on during the day too all it is foam board

Ik quite a few spots with creek mouths on the Scioto but most are hard to access from the bank wether it being way back in a field or on private property

I fish mostly south on the scioto I used to fish at a spot years ago in Chillicothe by the boat ramp up there used to be a good spot where that big island is along the bend but I haven’t fished it in forever idk how deep it is now but definitely have caught some out of that area

Foam board helps to know when u get a bite at night better if u don’t have a clicker them black max reels don’t have clickers

Ive heard of people using shrimp to catch channel cats but not flatheads that’s cool man. I’m gonna have to try some shrimp out sometime

Well like I was telling the other guy all my fishing spots are private owned and I haven’t writing permission from the land owners to fish these spots but I’m not familiar with fishing circleville area but I can give you guys asking these questions some tips so if u can find a decent or sharp bend in the river your in a good spot any deep channel in those bends will hold big fish usually I’ve had more luck this year catching them out of 8ft to 20ft holes

Well all my places I fish on the bank are private owned and I have writing permission from the land owners to fish these spots

Yea I caught some back in late April and early may but after they went on spawn they shutoff for awhile they should be feeding again soon my biggest Bluecat out of the scioto river was 45Ibs theres big ones in there
