Get some bells for your rods. I use them during the day if using multiple rods. That way if I am busy rerigging or anything, I know to look up at the rods. Your paper method is great but you have to be looking at it to know if you are getting bites.
Yea I never tried using them bells really might have to at some point I’ve been using the foam board for years now and it’s always done me good and I watch my poles pretty often and don’t ever walk very far from them especially at the river

I've found the best way to hook a gar has been to use a treble hook with two points exposed.
Yea I’ve caught em with just the line before sometimes they won’t let go and if u let me run forever eventually they will get the hook in the mouth or swallow it
It’s post spawn for channels and blue cats, flatheads are still in spawn. Have you ever tried fishing creeks that dump into the sciota , should be quite a few flatheads spawning in the creeks!
Ik quite a few spots with creek mouths on the Scioto but most are hard to access from the bank wether it being way back in a field or on private property
sounds like a kayak would be ideal!

Hey bud the reel is designed that if you put your bait alert on and press the cast button the fish can pull drag without you turning the actual drag star .. so when you start reeling you don't have to tighten the drag everytime .. love ur content
Well I do that cause I’m in fast current if I would just push the release and turn clicker on that current in this river will keep pulling and pulling it down stream but I get what your saying I should have demonstrated a lil more in my videos why I do that idk if you’ve ever fished the Scioto river or if you heard of it but there’s a lot of current in it all year long even when it’s at its lowest stage there’s a lot of creeks that feed into this river which causes fast current

I live in South Carolina about 45 miles from Santee Cooper Lake system... it's an amazing fisherie I hope you didn't think I was just being a a..ho.. I'll look it up .. and congratulations on 1k ... we have a small channel also .. we do storage units.. channel is called Storage Bratz .. my son and I are considering changing up and adding some catfishing and maybe a few hunting videos..
@FirstCastAngling heck I was just up by you first week of June.. In Massury Ohio . We came from south Carolina to Massury stayed a few days went to LaCrosse Wisconsin.. stayed 6 days there and back to Massury 3 more days and back home ... maybe next time we make the trip up I'll Tru n look you up .. and we can make collaboration video ... always awesome to meet fellow youtubers and even more importantly fellow outdoorsman

What is it your doing with the paper?
It’s for when I get a bite on the rod cause that reel doesn’t have a clicker it’s mainly for night time but I just throw em on during the day too all it is foam board
