      @@LearnSomaticsthe strengthening exercises should help but I get very tight in my TFL and QL. Next time I see my physio we’re going to go over them again. My glutes are not strong enough and my hips are overcompensating, I think. Got shoulder pain as well. I play guitar!!

    Colm, this is the most helpful comprehensive eye exercise ever! Believe me, I've done them all! It opens the flow of blood from my neck and eyes. Frees all the muscles around the eyes, and reduces the pressure! I haven't seen this well since I was a kid (and that was quite a while ago). The real estate of my eyes has increased! The view is great and getting better every time I engage in this somatic routine. In case you couldn't tell, I am VERY grateful for this routine you have created! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! Are there other somatic videos you have that address eye pressure?

    I really like this but it does seem to cause strain in my neck, even if I keep my fingers only touching my head :( Any advice welcome, thank you. Another question - some of these moves (this and the lovely lovely twisting one on the same playlist), I get a delicious 'yawn' through my body. That's meant to happen, right? I sit with it, let it happen, slow the movement right the way down to release. Hope this is correct!!

    I have a question regarding the exercise sequence where you are laying on your stomach. For Women, is there any way to make it more comfortable with respect to the chest area when laying on your stomach to do these exercises?

      Hi Patty, that’s a great question. Feel free to use a pillow/cushion under your belly if it helps to make the position more comfortable.     All those years of error with other methods Example i got the concept of pinching the pencil between the shoulder blades but never actually felt it something was always restricting the movement the chest the shoulders or the latts ect ect Today i pinched the pencil 🎉 Thanks to you Colin and your teaching of freeing front and back in its entirety arms neck chest sides belly.     I used to join an evening class online 8.15pm. I would close my eyes but fall asleep 😂I do your exercises of a morning whilst awake so closing my eyes isnt so bad then :)

      Keep the short leg straight, bend the other leg. Draw hip of short/straight leg towards armpit. Slowly release. Continue from there. Does that make sense?

    I basically do understand the complete ideas of the moves, but , lymph and a some others. I don't understand why the book should show me about the lymph.?

      The book will help you understand the reasoning behind the three stress reflexes and the corresponding basic movements. Don’t worry about the lymphatic. It’s a secondary benefit of doing the movements and just something I wanted to discuss in a video.

    Respected sir , please answer my question . I was doing yoga at home and after some time I noticed bulge and stiffness in my oblique muscles on both sides and this affected the curves of my waist .     "It's critically important to note that whilst the lymphatic system is similar to your blood vessels, one big difference is that the lymphatic system doesn't have a heart to pump all that lymphatic fluid around, like your blood vessels do" Yes and no. While there isn't a dedicated lymph pump your body provides the required pressures to move lymph around without you having to do anything about it. You might say the body is its own lymphatic pump. Think about it...if there was a central pump for the lymphatic system then human anatomy would be radically different. It's actually hard to imagine how that would even work in practice, for example the body might spurt lymph if we were cut. Unless you have a specific medical condition that results in oedema then there is no reason I can think of why you would want to try to increase lymphatic flow. If you are reasonably active then anything you do with specific exercises is irrelevant compared to something as simple as just moving. I'm really happy for someone to correct me but as far as I understand it anything I could consciously do to increase lymphatic flow would be countered by my nervous system etc to maintain homeostasis.

      Hi Richard, the point of the video was simply to show how you can encourage lymph flow at the main lymphatic junctions. Many people don’t move the areas addressed nearly enough. For more on lymph flow I’d recommend Dr. Perry Nickelston, he goes into this in more detail. Thanks for watching. 🙏

    I just did the glueal amnesia one, but my left foot hamstring was x extremely crampy on that one and felt my glute would not contracted as much as it did in this one , ?

    Interesting move! Do you have an explanation on why we might need this on know on some moves you have?? I down know why i am doing some movements this is frustrating for me
