Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the poor and homeless. Established in 1891, it's one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles.
We provide a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services to our guests, including: food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training to needy men, women, children, and families.

Malisa's Story
This month, we want to share Malisa's story. She has become a huge blessing within our community while inspiring others.
Her success story began when she was 5, living at the Union Rescue Mission. Being homeless with her mom, she remembers how URM helped her, her mom, and her sister.

when i was 13-14 in 1968-69... my mother and i served the troops there.. we lived up in eagle rock. That is my mom second from the left...at footage 207. Next to my mother is marguerite mcrossen the wife of don mcrossen the pastor at the victory service club who wrote the song on the jericho road.. 200 artist have recorded that song including elvis presley..Don was a great guy and a true man of God.
