Thank you Chief Midegah. I am a physician. I do not have any Native American blood. My family are mostly Scandinavian ancestry. I was born into the Lutheran faith, due to my ancestry. Then my father led us into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. [We are converts]. In my earlier years I was taught that Native Americans were descendants of the House of Israel. Then DNA was advanced to have each of us find our ancestry. Then we learned that our Nucleic DNA is 1/2 mother and 1/2 father. We can find that the Y chromosome identifies our biological father lines. But we found that we all have other DNA, and that DNA is found in an organelle in the cell cytoplasm, called mitochondria. In the mitochondria, that DNA is 100% mother. None is our father. Then we learned that mitochondrial [mt]DNA was compared to other peoples around the world. We categorized mtDNA in Native Americans into 4 "Haplogroups" A,B,C, and D. Yet none of these "Haplogroups" have been found in Israel. Only found through out Asia. So it looked like Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon was a hoax. Suggesting there were no Native "Nephites nor Lamanites" descendants from Israel. Then in time, scientists found a 5th Haplogroup among Native Americans. Scientists gave this Haplogroup the letter X. This Haplogroup is limited and found strongest in Ojibwe [Chippewa] people. It is also a Haplogroup strongly found in Israeli people, not Asia. Genetically, your people are not related to other Native Americans, but uniquely related to Israel. Haplogroup X also occurs in Hurons, Ottawa and Mohawks. And to a lesser amount in Sioux Natives that encircle the Great Lakes. [People who speak Algonquin languages] But the Ojibwe have the largest amount. You are NOT genetically related to any South American Native Americans or Asia. But you are more closely related to Jews. WOW. I find that interesting. DNA does not lie. You are a special people. You are telling the truth. Thank you for sharing your knowledge You are smart. As I write this, I am right now in the Turtle Mountain reservation, in my own home here. In information you have provided elsewhere, you also claim descendancy from a couple of my blood line relatives. So, if you can accept this not as a challenge but as a justified search for facts, truth, and authenticity, would you please provide that part of your family tree which relates to Turtle Mountain or Pembina peoples, evidence of the tribal and familial lineage you proclaim. They may claim membership, but if they do not follow the teachings, like you said, they are not SAINTS! Please do not heed the mocking and pointing from the great and spacious building (that’s where these “members” really are!) I am a doctor and get negative reviews. I’ve learned not to read these reviews because I give my all to these patients, and they just stomp on my sincere love and care for them. I cannot personally understand this mentality, but I have learned to turn away from this kind of negatively and focus on the positive comments that I get instead. I find it strange that an independent native tribe would hold a conference and align it self with the BOM, which call them lost and fallen and says they were cursed by God with dark skin. Chief Midegah has a fascinating heritage. As one aware that in the last days the very elect - those who have made covenants with the Lord under Priesthood authority - can be deceived, to the degree that Chief Midegah aligns with the Lord's Prophet on the earth today whom I was granted a testimony of and who holds all the keys and authority of the Priesthood, is the degree to which I will listen to the interesting things he has to share. This is a people that the Lord extended covenant to at one time. There are many such cultures. Exactness and honor are part of that covenant which at some point was broken and remnants remain. The Lord has determined that all of Isreal will come to his currently obedient people (largely descendents of Ephriam) under the Keys of the Priesthood actively held currently by only one man - President Nelson. All are alike unto God. He is not a respecter of persons. He loves those who make and keep covenants with Him under the order He has established. Chief Midegah has greater understanding of the remnants of truth found in his tribal history because he is a member of the Lord's church today and has been taught. He, too, recieved his portion of the Abrahamic Covenant in the Temple of our God, not from his tribal history, amazing as it is.
