That is so relaxing, thanks
How sweet! What sort of motor did u have?
It’s a trolling motor with foot steering. It was a lot of fun.
I've always like to see & hear female singer & songwriters, it makes me young again 😊
I've been thinking about getting a creek boat 🤔
You won’t regret it
Tell Nancy to get a swinging football jig head 3/8 with 3/0 or 4/0 hook size and an adrenaline craw and rig it weedless.. super easy to rig. Drag it around when it’s warmer. She will not regret it! 😊
Oooooh. I sure will!!!
Just a bit of native information on Marion and Santee/ Cooper River. During may the alligators can be very aggressive due to their mating season and will rush you if you happen upon their nesting areas. I had a 12 ft gator chase me in my kayak for over a mile on the cooper river four years ago. He followed me without ceasing right on the side of me within one foot. When it is not mating season they are not really aggressive but I promise you they can be during may. Having a pistol is a personal choice but as a female angler and native, I always have a firearm for personal security and also in the event of an unexpected encounter. I assure you that I am not by any means a doomsday prepper. It’s a personal choice. Enjoy SC.
I can sure see that happening and I too have encountered some aggressive gators. Over at Bates Old River I ran into many such gators. It’s never happened at Sparkleberry; not that it can’t or won’t. Especially as you mentioned: mating season. For me, it has not been the norm. Having a weapon is certainly a good idea but I don’t agree with scaring the bejesus out of people. I’m with you on this though.
@@donnabonfrancesco6222 agreed. He should have been calm and explained things but possibly he was actually afraid of chat happened out there and was attempting to cover up for his fear. You know how that goes. Lol. Bates is amazing. You should explore the moncks corner black waters that lead into the cooper. It’s beautiful
@@TheDarkHorse949 I've not gotten down to that area yet but I look forward to it. Thank you for the suggestion!
@@donnabonfrancesco6222 absolutely. Enjoy watching your adventures. Great content. Thank you for all the thorough details. I often wonder about water depth on your videos in reference to how my hobie lynx pedal drive or any pedal drive kayak platform would perform.
@@TheDarkHorse949 I'll consider that for future videos! thank you for that feedback.
You ever see anybody looking for gold in any of those rivers
I never noticed but I’m sure there have been!
Beautiful
We will be camping at Santee the fist week of June. Can't wait. Love your video!
I love lake Marion so much. I hope you guys have an awesome time.
As always; Fun Fun Fun
That water lilly is water hyacinth - don't not put in your pond - it will take over. If anything you need to kil it!
Oh no! Well it would be in a confined tub. I was hoping it would attract frogs.
Hello, how often do you go to Taw Caw? Also, where did you get the trailer from?
I’ve only been there a couple of times. The trailer is a 4 foot Harbor Freight trailer that I basically built to fit my boats.
@@donnabonfrancesco6222 Ahh, okay. I wasn't sure on the trailer. I kind of figured it came from Harbor Freight. I, sometime in the future, plan on doing the same thing. I, also subscribed to your channel. Like you videos!!! You might see me around Taw Caw sometime.
@@scjamiewd4 awww that's great. For those creek boats, they are flat on the bottom so I just got a 4x8 piece of plywood and covered it with indoor outdoor carpet. My buddy helped me extend the tongue so it's an easy pull.
@@donnabonfrancesco6222 Not a problem ma'am. I got a Caiman back in 2000 and used it until 2007 and due to work and family, I gave it up. So, after 17 years of non use I decided to get mine back out again and start using it. Just might see you around if your down that way. Also, do you mind if I send you a request? I not going to say on here so.....
right down the road from where i stay best for catfish
Relaxing video.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos ! The detail you show helps me determine adventures to take myself.
Thank you John. I try to add details so that it helps. I’m glad it does. :)
Great Job. like to see you living life.!!!!
I need to live more life!!!
Looked like a great day in a truly magical place. In the late 70s and early 80s, I made several trips into that upper Lake Marion swamp with Bobby Tindal, manufacturer of the original The Sneak electric one-man boat. It's a beautiful place, but not one you want to get lost in. I never fully knew where we were, but Bobby's GPS in his head always took us wherever and back. We would load the Sneaks into Bobby's jonboat and run up or down and across the river entering the swamp at one place or another, unload our little boats and go wherever he thought the fish might bite best or the ducks would be flying. On more than one occasion we spent the night camped on an old brick pile, all that was left of a plantation era building. Doubt I'll ever get back there, but enjoy your excursions which bring back happy memories.
That is an awesome story! Thank you for sharing it.
Great scenery and fantastic commentary. So peaceful.
It’s always nice there.
We are so glad you were able to get your Mom out on the lake and are enjoying your boat
Pat, it was great! I would never be able to get her out in that area without the boat. The cup holders worked out great for mom and the boat stayed cool in the sun. It’s perfect!
Donna you are a good Daughter and an and a good friend. What an enjoyable trip.
I've been telling mom about all the cool places I visit by boat. She follows along on video but there's nothing like being there and experiencing it in person. I'm so glad I'm able to get her out - even if it's for just a couple of hours. Never thought that would happen. <3
Your new boat made your Moms trip possible. My Mom is 80 and I plan to my a boat soon so I can take my mom for boat adventures too.
@@chrisblack3744 that’s fantastic! You only get one mama.
That was a cool thing you did your Mom loved it!!
OMG! It was so fun!
I so love these videos
Thank you Ken.
I'm late to the show but after finding your channel I am totally hooked luv your vids❤
Thanks Ken. I really have a lot of fun visiting all these places.
The Dam is on Computer it don't know nothing but release and stop
Oh! I didn't know that. Makes sense though.
Great Video
Thanks for watching
Great job with the new boat. I have been there a few times but fishing sucks there. We go to Lake Wylie or Wateree , will be going to Marion when it gets to crowded from the warm weather folks!!!!
Yeah, I’ve never known anyone to catch anything there. Good spot for testing though, and in May/June great to see the spider lilies.
Always enjoy your adventures on Santee Cooper.
This is a real nice place to paddle
Those are nice setups!! I need to sell my Bass boat now ! Always wanted to put in at Sparkleberry and cruise through the swamp. Thanks
I really enjoy these little boats.
Really nice to see you on the water again. Been missing your videos. Can Scotty Run handle a gas motor?
I guess you could use a gas motor. I would not because I like the silence.
Can't wait to see you and that new boat on the water wonder what ya gonna get yourself into with that boat well I'll just have to wait for your video
Can’t wait till it warms up!!!!
@donnabonfrancesco6222 Yeah I hear you there. I want to get my new boat out on the water
Did you by chance buy that on Darlington?
I bought it from a private seller.
@@donnabonfrancesco6222 there was one for sale in Darlington right up the road from me recently that’s why I asked. Private seller also. I one mile from where they make these, super nice people.
Those are made right down the street from my house.
Rick and I are so happy our boat has a new owner who loves it and that we have made a new wonderful friend. We will be following you on all your boating adventures and are so excited to get some new ideas of where ti enjoy God's amazing creation.
The best thing that came from that boat is meeting you both.
Congrats on the new Caiman. It's a beauty and custom fitted to the trailer. So nice when you run into great people like Rick and his wife who go the extra mile on their own to help others. They are an example of how all of us should treat each other. Hope your dad gets better soon.
Thank you John. You’re right. Rufus says, “more wags and less barking.” I wish there were more people like Pat and Rick.
Awesome Boat!! I love the story too.
Nice looking boat! Rufus is going to love it. I hope your father feels better soon. Dang flu is going around big time!!!
Oh Rufus will be safe and have plenty of room to move about.
Beautiful boat! Can‘t wait to see your adventures in the new year!
I'm over the moon. I can't wait to get it in the water.
Great job sweetie and hope Pops gets well quick!
Pop is a little better today. <3

It's a really special place
@@donnabonfrancesco6222 we always pass those exits to Santee when going down to Charleston. may have to plan a fishing trip one day and check it out.

Ru does have the life huh?
Always enjoyable
Thanks Chris
Glad you had a great birthday with your friends and family! The lake looked fantastic! It is always good to see Nancy and her one thousand fishing rods... Did Deborah make the trip as well?
It was fantastic! I’d go back in a heartbeat. Deborah? Not sure who you might be referring to. I did get mom on a kayak. That was an event!
Great viedo Donna can't believe how clear the water was down there glad Nancy got some fish on her line this trip
It was so beautiful. I just love Marion.
@donnabonfrancesco6222 Yeah, so do I ever since you did that video of packs landing, I go there alot now can't wait to get my new kayak down there, like you I have foot steering with this one,
@@cindyschnell Yeah, Packs is terrific. It's a little safer, as far as getting lost, boating from Packs rather than Sparkleberry. I'm glad you are exploring that area. I love it.
Awesome video
Thank you Jeremy
I enjoy your videos because they are so peaceful. The views are awesome. I just moved to Kershaw County and looking to buy a boat.
Thank you. When I moved down here a few years back, I could not find any videos that showed where to put in a small boat or kayak. The videos were always fishing videos so I decided to start making my own. I'm glad they help others navigate the area. GET THE BOAT!!!
Nice to see you at Packs landing on beautiful Santee Lake Marion, South Carolina. I have a family connection and part of my childhood was spent at Packs. My mother's Middle sister, Rose married Joseph Pack, the son of Britton “JB” Pack back in the early 60s. Many summers my father and I would help my uncle Joe run the boat Landing. Especially during rockfish/striped bass season, from January into April and May And June. Really big business. At one time Lake Marion was the only place in the world that had landlocked striped bass. I believe they became that way during the process of building the dam. You mentioned Low Falls Landing. Mr. pack either owned or leased that landing for a while in the 70s and my father and I would go there on the weekends and open it up. One of my favorite memories as a child was sleeping in a sleeping bag on top of the large chest freezer in the store there. My uncle Joe passed away many years ago. My aunt is still alive and Two of their sons still run the landing. A side story. The first pastor of the church that I'm currently attending is the son of the owners of Elliott's Landing. Elliot is just on the other side of the houseboat that you were showing in your video. Besides the Boatlanding, they also had camping area and had a crawfish farm adjacent to the landing. Lake Marion is known for its large bass. The one your friend caught was a baby. My father caught a 10 pound bass back in the 70s when I was a teenager And had it mounted at his office in Washington at the White House. They regularly catch rockfish or striped bass in Santee that weigh close to 40 pounds. In the area where you were fishing, we used to catch alligator gar fish. They have a long snout with lots of sharp teeth. They look similar to a musky or a pike fish. Here in South Carolina and specifically at packs, we call them Jack fish. If you really wanna catch some fish, you might want to come in May. There is a flying insect called a mayfly that usually hatches out in the month of May. At that time you can use what we call a popping bug. Basically it's a fishing fly lure on the end of a cane pole. Very easy to catch fish then. I enjoyed watching you and your little electric boats. I am usually moving around in a John boat as you said. I haven't been out in the Lake for many years now. It's kind of difficult. I'm a quadriplegic since 1978. If you and your friend are able to go in the spring time when it starts to get warm, you can go into the swamp and find a good Bream Bed, which you were calling sunfish, You are calling them mate and spawn. You can really tear them up then. I'm glad you were enjoying our beautiful outdoors in South Carolina. We are proud of them and we enjoy visitors. Y'all come now bring your money.
Wow!!! thank you so much for the history lesson my dear friend. <3
Really enjoyed hearing that story very informative thanks
we kayak that river a lot. So many small dirt landings to put in and take out.
It really is a nice place to paddle
