Yeah, this cat lost his way. All the preaching,politics etc and no real instrumental stuff ,other than mostly ensamble playing ,which is finr, but the skits, sex stuff...really...BORING oh and i thought the guy was a GUITARIST. This started with Flo/ Eddie in 1970 which 2as really funny at first but got BORING REALLY,REALL FAST. Does anybody really listen to that stuff? Yeah all the skits stuff ...BORING AFTER A WHILE....

Music for musicians and the rest of us dont get the dissonance or whatever u want to call it. Im too simple i like simple.

The Wikipedia article on Frank Zappa states: "detractors found it lacking emotional depth." I think Frank's music contains an ocean of emotional depth. He just avoided love and romance in favor of the rarer emotion (in music) of humor.

I just got through comparing the live preformance of jamrag to the original studio version of King Kong. They sound almost identical. I believe they owe Zappa a huge apology. Especially since Zappa's band is on stage playing the live version on Lennon's album. Besides, Zappa's original version sounds better. Without Yoko's god awful wailing.

I am so lucky I walked into a record store at the dayton mall and came upon SHUT UO AND PLAY YOUR GUITAR. Decades later one is lucky to get one record of that 3 record album---and That is, going for 60 dollars or something. He truly was a no nonsense 'mechanic' of the instrument, and I still enjoy the 'sights' he was able to point out in his Zappa wonderland.

It would have been so much easier to go with the flow. But he didn't. Fellow artists, especially young people emerging in the industry should carefully listen to his interviews. If you care about music, take a look where we are at, and how accurate his point of view was like 40 years ago...
