Leaking patio door | leaking French door | leaking UPVC door
In this video I show how to fix a leaking French door, but the door could be any kind of PVC type of door, as these have drainage channels at the bottom of the door. Once water runs into the channel, it should be able to run to the outside of the property, but if the channel becomes blocked it can leak on the inside of the property. This can cause serious damage, if it is not corrected as soon as possible.

Washing machine fills with water | replacing a washing machine inlet valve
zhlédnutí 2,1KPřed 14 dny
If your washing machine fills with water after there could be a couple of things causing it. The drain pipe might not be set up correctly, which is enabling water to run back into the machine, or the water inlet valve could be passing. In this video the water inlet valve is passing and will be replaced. If you are not sure about the water inlet valve being faulty, you can simply isolate the val...
Dewalt 18v cordless chainsaw | Dewalt DCM 565

The Dewalt DCM 565 is a 18v cordless chainsaw that has a brushless motor, it also has an automatic lubricator- like most chainsaws. This chainsaw is really easy to use and is safe and very quiet, when compared to a petrol chainsaw. Cutting logs or branches is a piece of cake with the DCM 565. In the video I show how many logs it can cut from a single 5AH battery charge. If you are going to be u...
How to fit or replace traditional basin taps

In this video I replace some old basin taps with new basin taps. Modern basin taps, often only have one hole for a single mixer tap, but traditional basins are still very common. When fixing traditional basin taps, I would recommend using a fix-a-tap kit, which centralises the taps in the basin holes and hold them secure.

    The WD-40 tip is a really good one. I bought a used laptop which had an asset tag sticker on the lid that was very difficult to remove without leaving residue. WD-40 did the trick and removed the adhesive completely. The only downside being WD-40 leaving a greasy film on the surface, but that can be removed using detergent.

  • @jshm2
    @jshm2 Před 2 dny

    These work ok, you just need to do them by hand, rather than use a driver. Yes 1 or 2 in a pack will fail - but you find that with nearly any multi item packet. Also you "set" the fixing by using the very top hole, regardless of which subsequent hole you use. Lastly, depending on what you are attaching, you may even need to install it "upside down" depending on the weight.

  • @ArcanePath360
    @ArcanePath360 Před 2 dny

    Please note, WD40 will leave a residue that needs to be cleaned off with white (mineral) spirit or denatured alcohol and dried completely before adding new silicone. Otherwise the new silicone will not bond properly and will leak water through it, which will get worse over time.

    • @ultimatehandyman
      @ultimatehandyman Před 2 dny

      Wall plugs work on expansion, so they cannot be used close to the edge of a brick for example, as the expansion will crack the brick. These are also good if there is a fire, as the plastic plug will not melt (say you were fixing something to a concrete ceiling) Also, you don’t need to drill the larger hole, which is required for a wall plug 👍

    I find plastic spacing wedges are very good for running along the gap between the cill and the frame rather than a screwdriver, usually a 1mm plastic wedge fits perfectly and lets you get right to the back of the gap and with no risk of scratching anything. Pipe cleaners can also be handy to push down the weep vents to help dislodge anything and doing it when dry tends to work better but with the current weather you could be waiting a very long time for that 🤣 (Good to see you back posting videos!)
