I have never for a second regretted spending that money Rear idler went bad. That was the reason for track removal. Luckily I felt it happen and parked it immediately so there was no damage!

I see a lot of Sany and Sunward mini excavators for sale used, from 1.5 up to 8 ton. The thing that concerns me is that I have yet to see one (from memory over 3 years looking) with more than 1000 hours on it. The majority are for sale with under 500 hours, many under 100. This could reflect that they are newer to the market and that they are all being brought by people with personal "small" projects that they have completed, but you see pro's and rental company's selling them at low hours to, when they tend to keep more established/expensive brands for thousands of hours. Im not criticizing the machines and I have no reason to question their reliability or longevity based on my research. I just see a very strange pattern in their sales that Im trying to figure out while I am looking at whats the safest bet for me purchasing.

Run what you want, can afford. I have found most of the negative comments from people who have never had to purchase any machines AND run a profitable business for any length of time. I had a Sany 8100 crane I bought out of Peachtree Georgia. CUmmins engine, Kawasaki pumps, all known good name components. It would chart as well as a 218 HSL LB. It's what I could afford and it was a good machine. I would buy another one if I needed to. Resale was low comparatively to other names but the savings was up front and warranty and service was top notch.

Grapple is a good plan! I like having my thumb since I have other operators on it sometimes. But myself personally I very rarely use it without the rotator. #1 add on I’d say you want is going to be the counterweight! I run a 59” grading bucket 90% of the time and I can keep it full in any position and the machine is still stable!
