I have a sany sy35u! I love it! I previously owned a kubota 040-4.. I spent more time broke down in limp mode.. at the dealership.. I hate that machine. Dpf don’t belong on these machines! Anyway I love my sany. The yanmar diesel runs good and the capability of the machine is amazing. The kubota moved faster but that’s about it.. kubota AC unit failed, regen failed.. parts were expensive as hell.. I get the same work done with this machine.. less problems! Sany all the way!

Run what you want, can afford. I have found most of the negative comments from people who have never had to purchase any machines AND run a profitable business for any length of time. I had a Sany 8100 crane I bought out of Peachtree Georgia. CUmmins engine, Kawasaki pumps, all known good name components. It would chart as well as a 218 HSL LB. It's what I could afford and it was a good machine. I would buy another one if I needed to. Resale was low comparatively to other names but the savings was up front and warranty and service was top notch.

The service is outstanding at equipment share where I bought it. 5 star with them , they come right out whenever I call them. I hate the small fuel tank , the Kubota 80 has about double the size one.

I like Sany's , and I agree with the track petal issues, and it's not just Sany with that issue. I don't care for the side swing back hoe boom types. When you are doing demo, grubbing or other high pressure work. It's real hard on the pins and bushings on one of those side swing units. They are handy for other types of digging though. I am used to full size big machines so it doesn't bother me much.

A quick fix for your pedals that worked for me. Don’t extend the pedals because they’ll bottom out and hit the floor when going backwards. Imagine a timber door wedge about six inches long. I welded up a three inch piece of flat steel by six inches long and then welded a small three inch long by two inch angle to the back. I screwed the front plate to the existing pedal and then drilled and tapped two holes into the bottom of the angled steel and screwed that to the back of the pedal. It did feel slightly different underfoot but it didn’t take long to get use to it. It helped me so good luck.

But realizing many machines are just a mix and match of off the shelf parts and some brands like Sany and XcMG built excavators and parts for other big brands kind of eliminates the blind loyalty to brands. Can you just slip your toes lower onto the peddle for reverse? I get you wouldn't want to shift your feet etc. Even in the Kubota kx080 the foot peddles are a bit off for reverse. The shifting boom is a great options there is a blind spot in back of the boom on all machines and being able to kick the boom to one side brings the bucket into view even with a tiltrotator its super handy. What the excavator forum you mentioned? If you don’t mind telling me.
I would’ve looked at a Sany. But the nearest dealer near me is about 2-1/2 hours away. I looked at the dealers within an hour and those were Bobcat, Deere, Kabota and Takeuchi. I ended up get the TB240 w/ thumb and 3 buckets and stick rake for $23k less than the Bobcat, $14k less than the Kabota. So price definitely made the difference. I’ll be using it for personal use on my timber farm. I’ll be using it mainly for stump removal, blow downs and general maintenance. But since I’ve never operated one except for a rental to dig a French drain and to removed a couple of stumps in the yard on a weekend I don’t know how much one is better than the other. I got the on I did because my trails between the trees is about 6-8’. So the track width could be wider than 72”. It would have been nice to get a large excavator as there cheaper used than a new and some used mini’s.

Hitachi, expensive but will last a lifetime. Used to buy CAT, never again!

yea dont rest your whole foot on the foot pedals like that keep your heels on the floor and use your toes on the bottoms of the pedal that will solve your issue interested to see how the the sanys hold up over time i never see them in my area

That doesn’t help the issue. If it was that simple I wouldn’t have made the video. Because of the leverage issue it takes way more force than it should to track backwards. I had the petals changed out from a Sany 215 where the petal is centered over the pivot point and now I don’t have the issue.

Hope that machine wasn't bought at auction. If so, no warranty for you!! Yikes!!

I bought it new. Most people don’t realize the auction deal is actually the case with most brands. I’ve talked with my dealer about this topic since everyone is talking about it. He let me know that they have been talking about it at Sany. I understand from the perspective of people potentially trying to take a junk machine and patch it up to send down the road. But I hope that Sany will come up with a way to have the machines inspected and warranty reinstated. Sany has been great to me so far and do believe in their mission. I really do expect them to come up with a solution. Appreciate you watching and the comment!

Same problem with the pedals on mine. Different model but.
The way around it is to put your toes on the rests to each side and use your heels on the pedal to go backwards. I would say it works so well that I think Sany must've designed it that way.

I had my dealer change my petals out for some out of a 215 and now they feel like I think they should !
