Do not buy this filter if you can't easily return it. Got mine with "restricted flow" issue, practically unusable. There are A LOT of cases people having this problem, just google it. It is 2024 and it seems like they never actually fixed it.

Love it. Just picked it up for the recent trip to Sequoia National Park. The versatility was exceptional, and the speed of filtration was refreshing from the previous system I used.

I think there should be a better solution for (proper) backflushing than the use of a gasket. Losing the gasket was one of the biggest complaints about the most popular filter on the market so it's a shame to see this trait is also is shared with the Quickdraw. Having a fully dedicated outlet cap system for connections is great though!

I haven't even used mine once outdoors yet and it seems to be compromised.

Unfortunately the quickdraw filter system fails on me on a solo hiking trip. I made it through in the end. But the Hong Kong distributor “The Overlander” refused to offer refund or exchange, which is appalling!

It's been a couple of months since this product was released, however I i cannot find the connect cap in your store, even though I could really use it. I also bought a filter without the dirty water bag by itself and couldn't return it because of time constraints, I'd really like to buy the dirty water bottle too. So please make them available for separate purchase soon

The ConnectCap seems to be a great improvement, it would allow me to filter directly into my Source Tactical bladder without removing it from the pack (these bladders, unlike Source Outdoor / Deuter ones, have a Source Quick Connect fitting (compatible with CPC) for the drinking valve, so the valve can be quickly removed and replaced with the output hose from the water filter). When were these new models released? I don't see them yet in any online stores in Europe, they are all selling the previous generation (without the ConnectCap).

damn dude this is cool honestly. can you drink absolutely disgusting muddy water through it though? your products would help rural african communities with access to only dirty water.

Please make this available separately. Also, please start selling replacement dirty water bags. It is obnoxious that it is impossible to buy a replacement dirty water bag without also buying a new filter.

These things get nowhere near 1 litre in 20 seconds, the best I've got from my brand new filter after a 24 hour soak is a litre in 1 minute 30 seconds and that look a lot of physical effort.

The Quickdraw is almost perfect, but sadly how can Platypus MISS such a homerun when you can't "screw" (attach) a clean Smart Water Bottle to the output side????

Love mine. Have had it for a couples of years now. I have 3 pump filters (One very expensive purifier to) and this has been my go to for ease of use, amount of water that in can filter at one time while I set up camp. In silty water have to make sure you back flush it. Which just consists of reversing the system. If you let it get to clogged it is a pain to get flowing again. I have thought about taking another bottle like a nalgene putting a bandanna or tshirt over it to get some of the silt out before I put it in the dirty water bag.

I love my platy 4L system. Thinking of buying this adapter. Where does the air go from in my nalgene as it fills with clean water? I assume I need to leave the lid a little loose...?

do you show the process for backflushing the filter? or adding a carbon filter for taste?

I just bought one and am not really happy with the flow rate. It takes at least 45 seconds to squeeze 1l of clean tap water through. And I'm squeezing so hard that it almost feels like popping the bag. Might that filter also be affected being part of the "defective first batch"? Even though I just bought it now? Also at 2:59 you show the integrity test from further away. That is showing a steady stream of bubbles, so a defective filter, right? Just like the 2nd closeup shows?

I would like it if the video showed a bit more on the integrity test, rather than a 1 second shot from 4 feet in front of the filter showing what to look for

My girlfriend and I are active backpackers and go 15 - 25 miles every weekend. We've been testing the Platypus QuickDraw now for the past 6 months. On the first two trips it worked as designed and the water flowed fairly quickly. However, just after 3 trips, we started to notice it was getting extremely difficult to squeeze the water through the filter. On this last trip, we went to Mount Baldy in AZ for a 2-night/17-mile loop. When we reached the top where we stopped at the natural spring to refill our water reservoirs, we quickly realized our filter wasn't working. We did as instructed to back-flush the filter but after several attempts, the water was barely coming out. I'm a pretty strong guy at 6'4" and 250lbs who is very active and works out almost daily, and even I was straining to squeeze the water through the filter. The last thing I'll say about the Platypus is that I wish it had the ability to screw the clean reservoir bag to the clean side of the filter. I can't tell you how many times I've dumped my clean bag over trying to hold that filter over the clean bag while using all my force of two hands (and sometimes my knees) to get clean water in that bag. I just purchased the Katadyn, Sawyer, and Grayl and plan on taking them all to our 7-day/50-mile Yosemite trip next month.

I've seen some people using a 50ml Syringe (no needle) to force water back through the filter from the clean side to the dirty side. And do the flush much more quicly this way. Could this damage the filter or is this okay to do?

The quick draw has definitely lived up to my expectations. Better than the be free imo. Like others have said, give us the ability to attach to smart water bottles and it'll be my go-to every time. Edit: never mind, there are internal threads on the bottom that allow you to screw on to a smart water bottle. Thats rad.

Please update the caps for the filter base and bag to have lanyard points so we can put loops on em and hook them off somewhere when they are removed. Caps without tie-offs will get misplaced, of dropped or washed away etc. Considering the fact that the bag it's not using standard pop bottle threads, loosing the cap is catastrophic as the bag the looses it's water storage capability - crucial for dry camping.
