I have a lot of trauma, and nothing has encapsulated my mindsets and feelings more than this album, and it's helping me get through a really tough stage since a relatively recent arc's trauma is finally starting to set in. I discovered weevil from this song at first on Spotify then when i migrated to CZcams, i listened to a few of their other songs and the lyrics just had a certain charm to them then i realized weevil was an old artist i used to listen to under s different name at the time :D

I absolutely adore the double meaning in the line "to be a girl is to be game." Game as in an animal being hunted, yes, but also game as always being up for something. The lack of consent. The implication that she doesn't get say if things happen to her. That she has to always be game.

But outside of them i feel so undesirable in public, esp since i have trouble making myself look presentable. Im a bitter loser who feels like theyll never amount to anything so yeah this song deeply resonates with me

I've always had gender dysphoria ever since i could feel. It's not only been put on stage, i feel non-existent in people's eyes no matter how intensily i express my autonomy. Reinforcing gender roles can give even cis people gender dysphoria. They don't love the authentic you, just the idea of you. You're the fucking poem instead of the poet. I never felt a connection to any gender, i only found myself through art, so i dont even know how to express that through gender identity. Even appreciating/highlighting my disconnected appearance makes me feel dysphoric and caged, but trying to pinpoint why feels wrong

i like this song touches on the fact that a lot of survivors of CSA, or just abuse survivors in general do oftentimes end up in relationships where their partner treats them similarly. I also am probably the only person who thought this, but the character being portrayed as plus size I think is an important detail because, either, like stated in the website, aren't trying to maintain the beauty standard on purpose, or maybe they were just always chubby. As someone who was a chubby kid, looking back I can see how predators used that insecurity against me, but also adultified my body because it was "curvier." Though predators will prey on ANY insecurity, I just also know a lot of other bigger kids did have similar experiences, but we are also sort of doubted way more. It's just not "believable" to some, apparently.

Why does the music feel more emotional and even the lyrics

God this song is too relatable This is a vent comment to get my mind empty some im diagnosed with both adhd,anxiety and autism. I call myself a AAA battery for the pun but i also have diabetes, the combination of them is terrible for me, almost every option leads me to choice paralysis and every second of the day I feel like I don't have the willpower or energy to do any of those things in the first place. hanging out with friends(people in general) for too long gives me a headache. Every day is the same thing of me slowly rotting away trying to escape my own chaotic thoughts all day via distractions I barely enjoy anymore, CZcams is barely able to keep my attention, videogames just arent enjoyable alone anymore, every time I draw I always lose motivation and give up And it feels like i lost my talent I had for those hobbies. I overall just feel like a inferior version of younger me. My thoughts if im ever not distracted will always eventually become a incoherrent mess of self hatred, especially gender dysphoria That I somehow understand and struggle to stop listening too, its like doom scrolling but very personalized. I hate it because on paper I should be happy, There should be no reason im sad, I live a genuniely good life but every day I feel like im one quiet moment from breaking down in tears and I struggle to explain it to others because when it comes out of my mouth it sounds so unreasonbly stupid. With all this my dad is trying his best to give me the want to go work with the tough love and im sorry for him because all it would do is remove the times of those few happy moments of my days, my only hope and feeling of wanting to exist I wouldnt feel like I have a purpose from a job, the money would never satisfy me as I was never a wanting or needing person. Im scared to think that i'm stuck in a degenerating loop with a mind and body that will barely let me try to fix it, but I do want to fix it, I just dont know how yet.

i've noticed that both this song and chocolate box girl, both about SA, uses metaphors of being consumed to refer to being assaulted. In Chocolate Box girl, it refers to himself as a chocolate to be consumed. Here, this character refers to themself as prey to be hunted and consumed, either by a predator or a hunter.

1:44 the line "i'm all you fantasized, desires come to life" seems to like , touch on the dehumanization and objectification part of sexual abuse. chocolate box girl isn't a person in the eyes of its abuser, no, simply a desire. also referencing how the abuser seemed to have consumed dead dove content and now theres someone to do it IRL with rather than just imagining it.

How the hell did you capture how I feel in one song

For some reason i find this so much more comforting than the og. It might be the way Mai's vocals are tuned so softly or the breakcore-esque drums under the music box-y instrumental, but to me it conveys a completely different mood that resonates so well with my personal experiences.
