I've listened to plenty of terrible songs, i even made a few. But, in my years of listening to "songs" that make me want to kms I have never heard anything like this auditory meth withdrawal. The lyrics are the edgiest "it's not a phase mom" bullshit, the character design is just plain ugly, the midi instruments are horribly programmed, the vocals manage to be flat and boring despite being made with one of the best AI voice synths, the melody has no rhythm, and the mixing is basically non existent. Please give up, edgelord.

I'm interested in Calibur girls design. Specifically the bullets. Bullets are pretty precise and have exactly one purpose which is to kill. So i would like to believe the bullets represent Calibur girls accuracy when it comes to performing most tasks, but also her being raised to serve one purpose which is to succeed.
edit: I have even more to say lol. I like the futuristic aesthetic that was chosen for her. With the future we tend to associate it with automation but also perfection, as most problems or technologies have been perfected or vastly improved. And with the bullets again, I like how she uses the bullets, (the tool/accessory) instead of the gun (the more vocal portion/ the reason why the bullets work in the first place). The design is just perfect breh.
You made me think about how the gun is the one thing that controls where the bullet goes, and the only thing that is left for the bullet is reach the target with swiftness and precisement, which could also tell about Caliber girl lacking actual control over her life and goals but still having to perform perfectly.
Former gifted kid here! This song kills me because I know that feeling of never feeling like you’re doing enough no matter your accomplishments. I lament the person I used to be, the grades I used to get. Thank you for helping me process this experience with this song, I am excited for the rest of post traumatic manifesto!!

I alreadt loved caliber girl and her story but when u mentioned on tumblr that she's chinese-american and the fact that that's important to her story she became my top favorite!! LIKE OK . Caliber girl reflects the mentality and work culture of so many immigrant communities; im iraqi specifically so i can only speak for that specific culture, but ive seen the same sentiments reflected when talking to my other immigrant friends
It's specifically the ideas of american expetionalism and the "american dream" that gets sold to so many immigrants. So many people come to this country due to poverty or war (for me and my family it was the latter), and we're promised vague ideas of "oppurtunity" and "freedom", when that's not what ends up being given to us
American work culture will kill you from the inside and work you till you're sick, and we're told to appreciate and be grateful for what we're given. We're brushed off when we look for structural solutions and we're not allowed value outside of what we could bring to the workplace. Moving to America i was told that i could get anything i wanted if i worked hard enough and "pulled myself up by the bootstraps", and then when we inevitably struggle and burnout we feel as though we're simply not "strong" enough, and this attitude kills people!!
To me, caliber girl represents the myth of the "model minority", of the immigrant or the woman who picked herself up and broke through the glass ceiling through sheer grit or determination. And maybe that's what she genuinely believes herself to be, and it's what she wants to be, and it's all she feels like she *could* be because for all the "oppurtunties" she was given to work herself to death, she was never presented with the oppurtunity to simply be.
Caliber girl shows the ugly, ugly truth behind the facade of american exeptionalism. It's tiring and jt's dull and it sees you as nothing other than a pawn to exploit for the sake of some respective company. I am . Im so obsessed with this character and all she represents, both you and caligi did an absolutely amazing job conceptualizing her and bringing her to life. She's going on my kin list IMMEDIATELY ❤❤

i like how the mv is about driving. i have a lot of thoughts about it.
driving is a lot of work, until it becomes second nature (still a lot of work but more automatic). perhaps caliber girl's work has become second nature to her, making it seem less valuable in her eyes, leading to her doing more work as a challenge / to prove herself to her employers / whatever it is.
also driving can kill people but it is treated very casually. also like working!
also its technology which seems to be her theme lol
this might be a little projection but i like to think the line "My racing mind, my body immovable" is about how she procrastinates/is unfocused. how she is always thinking about work, but not being able to get things done.
It's a line i like to think about a lot. i really love it.
the rest of caliber girl's song is so lovely. i love this concept more than anything. how her only goal in life is success, and even when she does reach it it doesn't feel like enough.
her video and design are so well done as well, i love the use of bullets to show accuracy, precision etc.

This can also get backed up in her journal entry of her page, where she mentions she doesn't have that much time left until the turnaraound date for her code in wich she hasn't made any progress, by also mentioning she's "been through worse" and that "this is nothing". I love how overall the character isn't described as someone who is exceptional at work, but rather as someone who has put so much pressure and burnout on themselves, that their energy to work has become nonexistent, causing them to probably have silent thoughts about rejection towards work.

to me the mechanical/industrial sounds remind me of feeling burnt out, just sort of going through the motions with no breaks. the lyrics don't scream "it's not a phase mom" but it definitely screams "I was labelled as high functioning, therefore I had unfair expectations thrown onto me as a result"
the mixing is really good; throughout most of the song, caliber girl has an even and steady range, but there are parts where she goes above and beyond (like in the "if I'm not perfect I don't want to be anything at all" part) and I think that really fits in with the theme of the song. staying at a steady pace and doing what you have to, but then eventually having enough and diverting away from that
i hope I worded everything alright ‼️ I am just super passionate about this project and I love analysing every little note and syllable and coming to my own silly conclusions

I don't usually comment on things but this project is just so amazing I feel like it makes the most sense. A lot of these songs are really cathartic to listen to. Thank you for sharing. It's not even that it makes me feel less alone (because I'm not alone and I know that) but it helps me feel some understanding. Kinda like the song itself understands, if that makes sense. Especially regarding splitter, disposable and irreverent. Your work is fantastic and I listen to it often.
