Those horse crabs you find not be dead ones, but rather the shed exoskeleton of the creature. One way to quickly determine that is to look at underside of shell. If it has a clean slit along the edge, it is merely the shed exoskeleton that it has shed. Just like lobsters, crabs and other animals that have exoskeleton, as they continue to grow, they shed the old shell, so they can grow a new one that is big enough for them. I have a shed outer skeleton of a horse show crab in my collection.

There was a glass factory on the cliff that dumped glass in the ocean. It is why you find pieces like the one at 4:16 and the multi's. I was there about 2 years ago and was just as excited as you to be there.
