Project Vigilant: the new way we are targeting offenders on nights out
On a recent Friday night in Weston-super-Mare, plain clothed police officers saw a young man acting sexually inappropriate towards a girl, alerting uniformed officers who stepped in to check on her safety. Although the girl initially said she was his girlfriend and everything was consensual, she later approached our officers for help, revealing they had only just met that night and expressing concerns about his behaviour and her safety.
Thanks to Project Vigilant, our proactive approach to making our towns and cities safer for women and girls, we were able to intervene and ensure the girl got home safe and the male was identified.
Using plain clothed and uniformed officers around pubs, clubs and bars, we aim to stop threatening behaviour before it escalates.

    This is like one of those stupid adverts or idiots that sit at supermarkets asking people with no money for their money. It's a Sham Scam. The Police are being used to violate situations, There were problems that needed to be addressed that Police could not or would not cope with. Like A Cope Cap. Now the population has increased dramatically at an unnatural force with enormous problems. The police have become more volitile and thugish than ever. It will change by the masses policing situations Lawfully. Those holding the badges and oaths do not have even their own best interests at heart. Like I said they are being used. Take Care the Wave of Volitility by preditors and police is inevitable prodictable even.

    Glad something is being done. But more needs to be done to stop motorcycling being associated with criminality. In London, The Imps motorcycle club/display team was set up over 50 years ago so young people who wanted to get involved in motorcycling could do so in a disciplined and controlled setting. Still going strong today. We should have one in every town. Also BMX/cycle speedway etc.

    The reason more people do not phone-in is because they are asked for all their personal details and to make a statement, which can also mean appearing in Court as a prosecution witness. If the police officer saw the person committing the act reported, his statement and video footage should be good enough for a prosecution. Once the public are involved, their details are also disclosed to the defence together with statements. Many just slow down and keep out of the way.

    • @Bond2025
      @Bond2025 Před 6 měsíci

      Something similar happened in a local Council CCTV centre. civilians monitored the screens and often called police via radio to incidents taking place. The police would go and get the footage, but also make the CCTV operator give a statement stating he or she saw the incident taking place and could identify the person responsible etc, even if the people were caught in the act of committing the offence. It is like the police are always wanting a third party to say THEY saw something so officers only need to take a crime report and have less involvement. This is just what I see in 4 areas of the country from dealing with various people.

    Do your job, arrest the criminal regardless of this nonsense, Avon & Somerset have inherited a leader who's another that's ashamed of being British. In effect if there are two people 'equally guilty' the CPS takes the view that 'BAME' are over represented in the courts and prisons so they are actively pursuing a program of not pursuing certain criminal activities amongst that community. In the same way that equally qualified applicants for the job on offer it will go to the 'BAME' candidate. This is more shameful anti British/European/indigenous policing ..or whatever nonsense the classifications are these days.
