Most of these shots don’t “hurt” the goalie, but the ringing is so loud. It hurts when you take a shot in the collarbone or neck, but for the most part it’s the fact that shot is so loud off the face. Now, that’s not to say none of them hurt, but just because they look bad, they’re not always pain, it’s disorientation.

All the intentional and savage hits should have resulted in immediate ban of the offending player from the NHL. Such hits caused early retirements to some great players. I'm very pleased to see the NHL has changed from those ruthless decades, but why did it take them so long???
