You grow girl: talking to Snowflake plant helps it grow
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 5 lety
It’s long been thought that talking to plants helps them grow. However, with the ‘Snowflake’ plant it’s not just talking that helps - it’s what you say and how you say it. An experiment revealed that the Nix lanula demitti plant, nicknamed “Snowflake” by scientists, blooms with silver-speckled flowers when it’s given positive affirmations, compliments and ‘woke’ advice. However, the plant loses...

Toffee Apple Cake Baked on the Traeger Timberline 850
zhlédnutí 1,4KPřed 5 lety
Moist and delicious, this apple cake is loaded with caramel and crunchy pecan nuts. Although it’s cooked on a Traeger wood pellet grill there is no trace of a smokey taste. It can be cooked on any BBQ which has a lid, just use good quality lumpwood charcoal or briquettes as cheap ones may not give you the clean burn you need to bake cakes. Pre-heat the Traeger to 175C (347F). Beat the eggs unti...
Flourless Chocolate Cake Baked on the Traeger Timberline 850

If an intolerance to wheat is a problem then this rich chocolate cake would satisfy all your cravings. It has to be done in stages but the result is well worth the effort. It is a slightly dense cake so not like your light and fluffy Victoria sponge. Pre-heat the Traeger to 175C (347F). Beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the yolks one at a time. Gently fold in th...

Who would have thought that you could bake a cake on the barbecue? You can and they don’t taste of smoke! Just use your grill in the same way that you would use your oven at home. It goes without saying that you need a grill with a lid otherwise if you’re burning charcoal you’ll just get flare-up. If you’re cooking on charcoal use good quality lump-wood or briquettes as the cheap ones can give ...

This just feels like two brits who haven't got the slightest clue what this piece of kit is for. It's supposed to go for 5-18 hours with racks of ribs, pork butts, briskets, etc. You can do sausages, but they'll be Texas-style smoked sausages, and they need to be on for hours as well. A pellet smoker is not a replacement for a charcoal grill where you use direct heat for 10-20 minutes hot and fast-cooks.

if you like your food to taste like wet burnt bark then wet your chips, if not use proper wood chunks. There is a good reason for why offsets and industrial smokers are kings of this - wood needs to burn at a specific temperature to produce the best smoke (thin blue, barely visible and not white, billowing with unburnt hydrocarbons - all sorts of nasty stuff). Also if albumin has come out you have overshot your fish temps, sorry top chef. Next time take it off at 54 instead of 64...
