What he's saying is true, mostly....except for the emergency-call-your-ent/doc/neiro- immediately part. I have gradually lost most of my hearing in my right ear k er the last couple years. Have worked with an ENT who is a very good doc, but the office is always booked full, so even when I have my daughter call and emphasize the dire situation they cannot get me in for usually 3-4 WEEKS. Not even days. Weeks. I'm pretty sure this is why my situation has gone the way it has. The doc and I have done everything possible to slow or change the progression, but since I can't be seen during emergency flares and deafness, it isn't working. I have been deaf in my left ear ALL MY LIDE. My mother thought I was ignoring her. I was four!! Why would she think that?? When she finally took me to the pediatrician, who confirmed the loss, he sent me to an ENT, who secondly confirmed the loss. The ENT sent me to House Institute in L.A. (the big guns) who said I was a candidate for a cochlear implant-- quite new at the time, not covered by insurance at all, and quite expensive. Mom declined, took me back to the ENT, who said, well, she'll be fine. Her right ear is compensating for the loss of the left, no worries. Fast forward thru life to age 50. I began experiencing louder tinnitus, occasional balance issues, and sporadic hearing loss, but had long periods between bouts. Most of the time GP would treat me for ear or sinus infection. (I've had a lot of those all my life) and send me on my way. When I got to age 57 however, it began to ramp up dramatically. Long story short, all the symptoms of Ménière's disease, taking turns and some days all together. Hearing loss continued to increase, and bouts of tinnitus and loss began to be more frequent, and longer, even though I'd learned to manage nausea and vertigo. In fact, the latter two are nearly gone. Yet the hearing loss is insane, and I have maybe 4 total (not together, either) of what I call "good ear days" I'm a month. It's frustrating, and it's sad. I only have one working ear, and no one has thought to consider this an emergency in the last three years I've been trying to deal with it. Now I am trying to get a hearing aid, and even though my state has mandated that all insurance providers must cover all ages when it comes to ear care and hearing devices, my insurance company is balking at covering JUST ONE hearing aid. One is all I need! The other was lost over 55 years ago. This is frustrating. I have been diagnosed since age 6 with "nerve deafness " in one ear, and now the other. The healthcare system is f*cking broken, and we as patients suffer because of it. It's bull$h!t. So what this man is saying is all very good advice and legit-- however, it isn't what reality is in the world of hearing healthcare.

I am trying hard to continue watching this video while the volume is low, compare to other CZcams videos is really low. The first low of clear communication with impaired hearing community has been ignored by a specialist.

hi doc, i have had ringing in the ears for about 10 yrs. it is tolerable, cept when i sleep on my side and kink my neck then the volume goes up. i damaged my 4,5,6,7 cervicals when i was 16, so i figure the ringing is related to the neck. i cured my tendonitis in both elbows and my cataracts . am working on the sciatic nerve now, going well. however the ringing i have not had much luck playing doctor with. cept as discribed, dont kink the neck while sleeping. i watch all your videos on gesara and qsg

I'd like to see a video on Custom 5, 7 and 9 models and, not so much about the difference in each of their feature, but if these features work on the 3D app. For example I was told model 5 has no wind reduction, yet this can be found in the app. Does it not work or what? How many other app features are not available if a lesser model is selected.

I went to ent to clean ear the bastard cut my tendon tensor tympanic now i have tinnitis hypercaus hearing loss dizziness i made a complaint to patient advocate now made appt for mri to see what he did because im assuming thats what he cut because of the symptoms im having .when he cleaned my ears i felt him really deep on ears like he made a slit on eardrum that dr is evil i just went for a dimple cleaning now im stuck for life because of him

Very helpful. Mine from in utero rubella is severe to profound both ears… 75-90. Hoping to get CI in my worse ear as hearing aids do nothing for it at all, no word discrimination. Had to reschedule appointments because of transportation. Hopefully I don’t have to wait another month.
