2007 Acura TSX P1009 Fix with an Oil Change
2007 Acura TSX 2.4L VTEC with a check engine light trouble code P1009.
Check the oil but not see anything on the dip stick. Add 2 quarts of oil, reset the check engine light, and the owner drove it for 3 days with no problem. While doing an oil change, Inspection and found oil leaks from oil filter so change the oil with new filter to fix the problem. Ended up using 5 Quarts of oil to get the oil to the max point on the oil dip stick. Owner drove it for 1 week, recheck for oil and find no leak.

Trouble code P1009 info:
P1009 ACURA Code - Variable Valve Timing Control Advance Malfunction.
P1009 ACURA code possible causes:
Engine low oil level
Dirty engine oil
VTC Strainer for blockage
Faulty VTC Oil Control Solenoid or circuit
Faulty VTC Actuator
Engine mechanical problems
P1009 ACURA code tech notes:
An stretched timing chain or damaged tensioner can also caused triggered the P1009 code. Before replacing timing chain or tensioner, check engine oil level and condition. Replaced engine oil and filter with factory recommended oil weight if necessary.
P1009 ACURA code possible symptoms:
Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light).
Rough or even choppy idle
Decreased fuel mileage
What is P1009 ACURA code meaning?
The variable valve timing control (VTC) system controls the phase of the intake camshaft. It uses oil pressure to operate the VTC actuator so the valve timing is optimized depending on driving conditions. The engine control module (ECM)/Powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the phase control command and the actual timing of the camshaft by using camshaft position (CMP) sensor A. If an over-advanced camshaft phase (compared to the directed value) continues or when the camshaft phase is otherwise abnormal, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.
Acura P1009 Causes
Low/No oil
Dirty oil
Wrong oil viscosity
Clogged VTC Strainer
BAD VTC actuator
VTC Oil Control Solenoid

what was the reason for changing solinoid and how did you know which solinoid is for what and which to change for what issues ? i have a 2004 honda odyssey and in the past few summers the trani fluid had boiled over and gotten all over engine and the RPMS go to 5000 without moving, so i have to stop and wait for it to cool down, but this summer its happened several times and am going to change filter and trani oil finally and hope it helps with shiftiong and not boiling over again. thanks for the video and for any help you can offer me

Keep in mind that most all transmissions have a pan filter that collects the heaviest metals falling downward. This filter that he showing is a cylinder that collects the finer metals and not the chunks. So it's basically just a magnet and change it is not going to increase the life of your vehicle. Experts are recommending a magnefine filter or a generic on eBay $15. It goes on the farthest return line closest to the driver side wheel. Many experts said , 4 consecutive flushes in one month using synthetic Valvoline is the best method. Be sure to get it in the highest speed overdrive between each flush. All Honda transmissions should have the transmission fluid changed every 10,000 Miles in order to maximize the life of the vehicle. Damn spell check I had to redo it at least twice

Keep in mind that the 99 to 2004 were the Bad years and each year has a different scenario. 99 to 2001 had issues. See Wikipedia for details. Then 2002 they were supposed to cure the problem but they had another problem with some bearing that could blow up and cause metal pieces to fly everywhere in the transmission. So the 2002 had a special modified hookup to either the fill hole or directly on top of the filter cylinder that is showen in this video . I did a comparison and noticed that not only is my 2002 filter smaller but it has a add-on modification tube. This was designed to put more fluid on gear number 2. I would never attempt to change that filter because it's basically just a magnet anyway. I ordered a aftermarket filter to put on the return line that is on the farthest right side by the wheel of the driver side. I have 135k mi on my Odyssey and I have to drive it very delicately and in heavy traffic shift manually letting up on the gas in second and third. So I'm raising the RPMs higher than normal. And this has caused the dash light to blink on the , I think it's the D of the shift. I decided to do four flushes in a row within one month period and always drive it in the highest speed between each flush to circulate the new fluid into the torque converter. I just bought the vehicle and did not do enough test driving and the guy was deceitful with me by not telling me that it really has a terrible vibration shaking going into third gear. It's literally like a massive heavy basketball bouncing inside the engine/ transmission. It's like seriously damageing. Also it clunks in the second and third gear. But driving slow and steadily climbing the RPMs. I decided to go with the recommended Valvoline synthetic from Walmart 25 bucks. According to some of the experts changing the fluid every 10,000 MI has increased the life of the transmission even up to 300,000 miles and one guy swore he got a Honda Accord to go 400,000 MI. Others say they did the four flushes and used a Lucas additive.

Vinegar is an acid and will gradually dissolve the corrosion and mineral deposits that are seizing the plug in place, and heating it up not only makes the acid work faster, but also causes the metal to expand a bit, possibly helping to break it loose.

After hearing many roofers say don't paint your roof I was skeptical cause they may say that so as not to hurt their livelihood. One roofer pulled off the shingles of a painted roof to expose the plywood had retained moisture and rotted the plywood. Not sure if this is a possibility with a painted roof, but if true the money you think your saving may be lost with the added cost of repairs.

I just priced this against new roofing materials. 30 squares.. Tropicool..$5,150 plus tax just for the silicone..no rollers, brushes etc ! New roof using GAF Timberline HDX with tar paper ,ridge vents , all new pipe covers..new drip edge etc. $4,890. I can have the old tore off and new put on for $60 a square. Henry has jumped the shark with their prices on this stuff. They are waaaaaaaaaay to proud of that stuff ! When it first came out it cost less than half what it cost now in just a few years. Its no longer a viable option to a new roof . I wanted to use it really bad but that price is just plain ridiculous ...not to mention all the work i would have to do putting it over architectural shingles...its just not an option anymore. Henry jumped the shark !

Recommend the AERO brand. Dirt cheap and even include refills which take all of 30 sec to replace. Wipers and bulbs are the bread and butter of box auto part stores. No incentive to carry carry refills anymore and even any decent models. Why sell a Philips headlight bulb that lasts five years when a Sylvania will burn out in one.

This product dramatically reduced the heat in the house and even on a hot day the roof is cool to the touch. That was in 2019 and the roof is still in good condition. Hello, I have a 2009 Honda Civic and had the TPMS recently replaced. They relearned it and the TPMS light went away but the "Low Tire Pressure" Light is blinking like in your video but will not go away even after driving over 50 MPH for over a couple weeks. Do you have any idea why the Low Pressure Light is now on and blinking?

    • @davevalinty4293
      @davevalinty4293 Před 7 měsíci

You probably have a hole clogged up on your sensor or the sensor is malfunction. There is a small hole on the sensor that allow the sensor to sense the tire pressure. It probably get clogged up by debris inside the tire.

    • @orozcorob69

The autel tpms tool has two ways of programming a sensor, with air or without air pressure. If you program a new sensor with the setting set to do it without air, it has to be completly deflated, no air pressure at all. Otherways it will report incorrect air pressure and will set the low pressure light. That would be my guess..

Lived in my house for almost 20 years, never had an issue, TODAY had this issue. NOTHING has worked yet. I did the hot vinegar, then baking soda and vinegar 3x, nothing. I have a feeling its 20 years worth of junk in there😭😭😭 Will do CLR and wait till morning, I'm SO drained...(Punt intended).😔🙏😩😭😭😭

@@IWBVS HEY, THIS was Actually SO funny! My pipe FROZE 🤯🥶 due to a crack in one of our slabs that led to this pipe. It was CRAZY !! Took a blow dryer and hot water to bring everything back to normal. Thank GOD we were able to fix and call it A night. 😁😀🙏🙏🙏
