A bad Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor can upset fuel delivery and ignition timing. Depending on your vehicle model, your engine might experience one or more of these performance problems :
    1. Rich air-fuel ratio
    2. Lean air-fuel ratio
    3. Surging, RPM fluctuation
    4. Poor fuel economy or gas mileage
    5. It won't start
    6. Lack of engine power, poor acceleration
    7. Stalling
    8. Detonation and misfire
    9. Higher than normal emissions
    10. Hard start/No start
    11. Engine misfire
    12. Engine pinging
    13. Multiple MAP sensor Code
    14. Fouled sparkplug, detonation
    15. Strong fuel smell
    16. Struggling going uphill
    17. Check Engine light
    18. Limp mode

Allow the sensor to read more accurately, the dirt can mess with idle and/or injectors...
