2004 Odyssey OEM ATF Filter Vs ATP Brand

  • I decided to cut open the after market brand ATP Transmission Filter and compare it to the OEM Honda filter. Surprisingly, both filters are identical.
    OEM:25450-P7W-003 Filter (ATF)

    Thanks for showing the similarities and difference between the ATF filters. Changing them is not required but good preventative maintenance for the weak spot with these transmissions.

      This should be a maintenance item. All the friends I know have their transmission rebuilt when they bring it to the transmission shop, and it's a costly repairs.

      You are right. It's a weak spot...I guessing that Honda put it there to get all the dirt that may present during assembly, After that, it's the bypass valve job to make sure the transmission get all the lubrication it needs.
