What a great film! Those were the days! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
❤
"Dashcam" before it was a thing! A literal trip down memory lane. Kind regards.
Amazing photography, thank you very much!
This video is dope.
Thank you for making these videos. I was surprised at how strong the emotions that I felt while watching this one. Trying to describe the heart flutters I felt…. Like a longing. More than reminiscing. And those demolition photos. Really powerful. Thanks again. 🙏🏾💕 Ps. Do you remember the Golden Fleece servo? I worked pumping petrol there when I was about 17!
Awesome coverage. Takes me right back AND I wish I could have those years back ✌️
I got my first fish shaped by Stevie Lis in ‘74. Surfed the Cliffs, Big Rock, Baja and many, many breaks up the coast all the way to Steamer Lane. Lots of partying, girls and wild living. Never thought I would make it to 30, but God mercifully saved me and everything changed-for eternity! God bless.
Hi Gary!!!! Wow... Love this post. I shaped my first Lis Fish in 1976! I too surfed Big Rock or Lobster Lounge. I was also Carlsbad '76 class. And like you, I asked the Lord Jesus into my life on Nov 30 1985 at 11 pm! My wife and I then had two children, one grew up into a pastor for Harvest, the other (daughter) is a professor at a Christian U. The Lord is amazing. When the kids came, I hung up the kneeboard and windsurfed hardcore for 15 years. We traveled as a family over 300,000 miles from Baja to Oregon. Then I got into kiting and went to Maui over 20 times. Now I am 67 and maybe over the water, but my wife and I bought electric scooters and we ride the beaches in our lazy years. The LORD is great! May you be blessed, Gary!

When Sydney was a great place to live before those who hate our way of life turned up now we live on the fringes or just plain got the hell out love the vibe and memories of that time.
Nice
Great vid, a great era to grow up ,no tats ,piecing ,no fillers, few drugs, no mobiles .simple times
Fantastic!
Wow! The freakin 70s Rocked and was carefree
Damn, I love this film. I was just leaving high school at the time. Great music too
Fabulous! Two years later I completed my HSC and went to work in the city. Sure looks the same to me.
Glad I walked up and down Cronulla Street when it was a street many times before it was ruined. Cronulla was dark by late 70s with drug od's and so on but now its like California - which is worse?
Oh your Falcon! Your videos are something else Ross thank you so much for sharing what used to be the beautiful Cronulla area.
The Time capsule is to be opened in 2025 !
Great video, excellent footage, music and editing work Well done indeed. Greetings from Thailand.
I have wonderful memories of the 1970s watching surfers this is beautiful it takes my breath away.
I'll never have this.
when you didn't appear 'retro' but just young, strong, beautiful. When old people looked old, and service wasn't just a counter/station.. the air was thick with vehicular fumes, but in the country the air still tasted like honey and bugs and trillions of tiny flying insects were in the air.. thicker then all the cigarette smoke that existed everywhere; i would happily give up the computer age for all of this era back.
Yes.
priceless. thank you. Brings back awesome memories. Fond memories of the glory days of surfing before the sub-cultures demise and before the onslaught of the internet. Those definitely were the "good old days" I am just so grateful I was a part of it. Keep digging in the vault and post more vintage footage. I will be waiting here in the theatre...dead center....popcorn in hand. Thanks again.
Fantastic.
Cool stuff, brings back memories in the area
Crikey, Goog looks like a dodgy Uber driver ... great times Ross ;)
These are gold guys
A great video and choice of music. Trim kids having fun no tats ,piecing or mobiles a great era!!.
Excellent. Has me stoked.
Hanging out with the locals- good times
Making Memories 🇦🇺
Good Times Brother, Thank you for taking me on your journey 🇦🇺
I appreciate your lovely comment, I had a little tear. It was a journey - a fabulous journey and it's not over yet. Thankyou!
@@ramdarook great reminder- the journey is not over yet
Ahh... 1972. - 2nd Form at Cronulla High... recall most of it well.
Great memories, back in the era when made in Australia meant something, folks were proud to work in manufacturing. The population was mainly trim no tats ,piecing, no lip fillers, mobile phones or internet and people lived a more simple life.
It's very fast. I'll adjust the film speed so I can take a good look around. I was 20 years old when this was made.
Back in era when Australia was really Australia, being proud of Australian made, & a large proportion of the population did manufacturing work not frightened to get their hands dirty. Has Australia improved in more recent times?? Debatable
The Ted Nugent song was perfect for that segment!🤙😎✌
GREAT escape film. Escape from the doldrums of the deterioration of America.
Our lives functioned quite well 1975 without internet
Fantastic film😎👍👍🌟🌟👏👏.....,wonderful atmosphère..🤩👌💫👌...,the 70's and 80's.., the best decades ever....😉🎉🥂!!!!!....
Too many Asians in the city now no white people
The 'good old days' of Sydney and Australia.. When everyone was 'fair-dinkum' and a handshake meant 'the deal was done'. Sadly, we have lost the plot nowdays...
Brilliant, thanks for sharing! This is so nicely edited, it's perfect! I can imagine at the time ... "why do you want to waste film driving around Sydney?" ... 50 years later ... "THANK YOU SO MUCH for filming something as mundane as city traffic ... the roads, the buildings, the AUSSIE MADE CARS!"
Some people say Linda never left Paul, I don't think she did either, not even after her death, she's still watching over him, along with John and Stu :)
Wow. Go, cameraman!
spirit
I hope you enjoy my footage of Cronulla Point and the big Shark Island waves.
It’s great surfing from that period, late single fin era, Wayne lynch goof surfing was great
I surfed with the guys in the 70s and 80s in California Hawaii and Australia
Give me a time machine.
