Do you recommend any kind of lubricant for the tensioner? I released my tensioner bar today and nothing happened, then I unscrewed the manual tensioner until the rod pulled out and still nothing happened. I then took a ball peen hammer and tapped lightly on the tensioner and it popped down and released the blade. The saw is a Delta 28-276

I just picked up a 12" tilthead for nearly nothing..the guy didn't know you could tighten the tilthead lock so whenever he used it the head would drift into a tilt...Anyway I fixed it and it works great. I chan😢ged the blade to a new 3/8 6t blade and new Urethane tires. The issue I have are trying to find replacement guide blocks, I can't find replacements anywhere. My last resort are cutting and drilling some rectangular cool blocks to fit. Any idea where I can find the correct blocks without having to manufacturer them myself? Thank you.

I have this bandsaw. The bottom thrust bearing is back as far as it can go and is still touching the 1/2 inch blade. What am I missing in the adjustment? The block that the bearings are mounted in is back as far as it can go also. My blade is tracking on the top wheel with the gullets almost in the center of the wheel. I adjusted the blade forward on the tire a little to give more adjustment on the bottom thrust bearing. Can’t see what I’m missing in the adjustment. There should be plenty of adjustment but it just isn’t.

I looked thru comments and didn't see anything mentioned about your stated bandsaw speeds around the 15 minute mark. You said woodworking blades are around 31,000 SFPM - shouldn't that be 3100 SFPM range? Metal bandsaw blades are also a good bit slower than mentioned. Otherwise, another GREAT video - I've got a Rikon 10-326 with the variable speed option. Thank you for sharing knowledge on bandsaws and blades.

My apologies if I said 31,000 I did mean 3100 surface feet per minute. Metal non-Ferris should be around 900 surface feet per minute and steel should be down around 150 to 300.

Great video, great saw, it's a versitile work horse! The table on this saw also tilts up to 15 degrees and has a tilt indicator scale (tilts to the RH side). Mine also came with an integral air pump that blows saw dust away from the blade while cutting- or at least it used to. The connecting rod pin came out, blowing a hole in the side of the plastic housing and I had to remove the guts (piston rod was banging around inside as it rode up and down the cam, the cam being pressed onto the motor shaft). I could not figure out how to remove the pump/ cam from the motor shaft, and that what led me to this video. That air pump housing has an access hole in the bottom, and I assume it is for lubrication. The rotating part I removed was pretty dried up, lubrication wise. I would have shot some lithium grease in there every year had I known. The rubber bellows also had a hole worn in it, so I did not attempt to repair the connecting rod pin. Just though some might find this interesting/ informative.

Thank you for the awesome video. The wheels on my PowerMatic 14" PMBS-14 have tire a channel that is .094" wide. The old tire was slightly under 1" as well. The new urethane tires are exactly 1.00" wide, slightly wider than the wheel (the wheel is crowned and impossible to measure accuratly, but the old tire COULD be measured ). Will a 1" tire on a .094 channel run OK in the long haul (I already installed them). I couldn't find narrower after market tires. Thank you for the awesome video.

Well, isn't this something? On 5/6/22 I called to order a Standard Model #1-STD1 to replace one that I had on my Grizzly 14" Band saw. I cut the dog leg off it and drilled and tapped a hole in the side to mount it in the guide support of my jet JWB-10 (this was very simple and easy to do). I have been using it for almost two years now and it has been awesome. When I called them back on 5/6/22, I talked to a woman and asked her why they don't make one for 10" band saws, especially the jet JWB-10, and she said that they were too small for a stabilizer to be of much benefit? I told her I got one to work on mine and it worked very well, and they really should reconsider making one to fit them. Well, it looks like they did. 👍 Anyway, like I said, I've been using my modified stabilizer for two years now and I will never go back to standard guides on this machine. All the Best, Chuck. P.S. My modified stabilizer is much smaller (not as tall) than this one and allowed me to cut over 1/2" off the bottom of the upper blade guard, giving me a little extra room. This is very helpful as the Jet JWB-10 doesn't seem to have as much resaw height as some other 10" band saws on the market at the time I bought mine. This might not be important to some, but to me it is. P.P.S Get their 10" Ultra Blue Urethane Tire, SKU# TQ-10. The stock black rubber tire is just junk. From the looks of it my set will last the life of the saw.

One thing to add-- when done cutting, loosen the guide and then take tension off the blade, but leave a little tension so the blade stays where it was set. When ready to use again, just put full tension and then move the guide forward again. Otherwise, the blade will slide off the wheels.
