    This is very cool. Thanks for your work on this. Apologies for the basic question but I can’t seem to get the sound randomisation working (assuming this is what the random seed is for). When I enter a new seed number and hit enter (when not in edit mode), should the 6 parts be replaced with new randomised sounds? What could i be missing?

    • @noiseaud
      @noiseaud Před měsícem

      Hi, Thank you. The random seed generates a new random sequence. The random number generator creates a sequence for the pattern of how the parts are triggered. it's not for randomizing the sounds.

      The book "Pure Data programming fundamentals: Patching, effects, sound synthesis" has the basics and also for more advanced patches. Right click on an object in Pure Data and selecting help brings up very useful information with working examples. Use speakers, don't use headphones. - some mistakes working with audio patches can create sudden noise which could damage your ears. Once you learn how things connect to each other and what a few of the objects can do - Keep building things with those basics and more advanced things will come naturally.

      @@noiseaudBy own experience, it's recommended/okay using a limiter before the final output? AfaIk that wouldn't let me monitor properly the signal, but isn't that easily fixed by using some kind of visual monitoring in PD? (Taking by example a plugdata patch where you can use it in DAW)

      @@noiseaudsecond question in a row (And I hope I'm not bothering. Just curious) Why PurrData? I've seen many people just staying with Vanilla or Next. I'm mostly like just hoping between flavors. Thanks in advance! (btw, your music is so good bro)

    • @noiseaud
      @noiseaud Před měsícem

      @@bytefuzz Hi, You can work with a limiter on the master output but keep the limiter setting subtle so it doesn't impact how you are mixing too much I have used "clip~" on some projects that has worked well. I still wouldn't use headphones though in case of mistakes. Also when mixing in pure data when you multiply a signal with "*~" adding more signals will increase the overall amplitude sent to the dac~ so use a "/~" to divide by the number of inputs. For example "/~ 4" if you have 4 inputs / oscillators etc.

    • @noiseaud

    • @noiseaud
      @noiseaud Před 3 měsíci

      Hi, thank you. I've not synced it to ableton myself but perhaps a virtual MIDI bus would connect pure data / purr data to ableton . "A virtual MIDI bus can be used to send MIDI messages between different applications on the same computer" Here is a link about that on ableton's website : help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209774225-Setting-up-a-virtual-MIDI-bus An alternative to syncing the software you could record the Volca Drum audio output with ableton while sequencing it with the editor - trim the audio start point and with setting the same BPM you could add additional layers like synths etc along side the recorded Volca Drum audio . I hope that helps .

    Dear @noiseAUD, First off, I want to extend a huge thank you for your enlightening video presentation and for sharing the incredible glitch sequencer for the Volca Drum. Your contributions are truly inspiring and have opened up new avenues for creativity in music production process. I'm reaching out in hopes of gaining some insight or assistance with an issue I've encountered. I've been trying to connect my Volca Drum to my Mac, which has an M2 chip, using a Roland Rubix 22 audio interface. The MIDI out from the Rubix 22 is connected to the MIDI in on the Volca. Unfortunately, despite following the setup procedures, I'm not getting any sound out of the Volca Drum. Moreover, the Purr-Data console displays an error message stating "expr divide by zero detected". I've double-checked the connections and settings but seem to be missing something crucial to resolve this issue. If you, or anyone else in the community, have encountered a similar problem or have any suggestions on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

      Hi, the background drone is a time stretched vocal sample. I used paulstretch sonosaurus.com/paulxstretch/ to make it. All the other sounds are from the Volca Drum. There is a drone type of sound that starts around 1 min 30 seconds which is from the Volca Drum - that is one of the drum sounds with the Wave Guide repeating the sound multiple times.

      @noiseaud Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, It is an editor you can use to edit the Polyend Tracker Instrument Parameters with your computer. A bit like connecting a MIDI controller to your Polyend Tracker to change the Filter, panning, LFO settings etc.. but this is all done on the computer with the Editor and connecting the computer to the Tracker with a USB cable. The video is displaying sliders / parameters that that can be edited by clicking and moving the mouse - when the sliders are moved they change the corresponding parameters on the Polyend Tracker. In the Video description have a look at the Set Up section to find out how to set up the tracker and how to get it all working as well as download links to the software. I hope that helps - Thanks.
