  • This is an editor to edit the ‪@Polyend‬ Tracker Instrument Parameters with a Computer.
The Editor sends MIDI CC messages.
I created it with the visual programming language "Pure Data"
It will run in Pure Data, Purr-Data, Plug-Data Standalone or other Pure Data software - which is free and open source software for Mac, Windows and Linux.
Sequencing can be focused on with the Polyend Tracker and the editing of sounds via a Laptop or PC. Edits to Instrument Parameters can be done in the editor instead of using multiple windows / sections on the Tracker.
Select the desired instrument on the Tracker hardware and access to all Instrument Parameters and Instrument FX are on one screen with the Editor.
With the Polyend Tracker Synth Mode - A MIDI Keyboard can be connected to the Tracker to play as a Synth and sound design can be done via the Editor.
    SET UP:
    Download link: github.com/noi...
After downloading the noiseAUD_Polyend_Tracker_Editor zip file - extract the zip file and open the patch called "AUD.Polyend_Tracker_EDITOR.pd" in Pure Data (vanilla) or Purr Data or Plugdata (or other Pure Data software)
Connect the Polyend Tracker to your Computer via a USB cable and on the Tracker / config / MIDI: set CC in to "USB"
Send MIDI from Pure Data settings / preferences to the Tracker
Or with a MIDI Interface Box - send MIDI from Pure Data to the box and use a MIDI cable connected to the Tracker with CC in set to "MIDI In Jack"
The Editor will run in Pure Data, Purr-Data, Plug-Data Standalone or other Pure Data software.
    I recommend Purr Data.

Pure Data, Purr Data, or Plugdata?
Pure Data is the original, vanilla software that other Pure Data software is based on.
You might find it works when others do not work for your computer so try original Pure Data if others have issues for you. It’s a bit more difficult to use, but is the most up to date.
Purr Data has a much nicer GUI than vanilla and is easier to use because of it. It has additional features and extra content.
Plugdata can be used as a VST in your DAW. You can use it to make VSTs based on your Pure Data / plugdata patches. It can also be used as Standalone. It has attractive themes.

you got hardware with haptic and build abstraction with software.. this is creativity killer cause you switch to mouse and pc. I got so much software editors for my synths cause I thought they would help but no they didn't really.. I prefer midi controller with my gear when I need it.. but any way respect and yes you did a great job with that tool!

Is this basically a CC Midi map / front end for the device? Pretty cool! I wish they'd do this for more hardware instead of me having to look everything up.

Wow, this is incredible! Any plans for something like this for the synth engines on the Tracker+, Tracker Mini, and Play/ Play+?

Hi, thank you. I don't think i will be buying the Tracker+ or the Tracker Mini which I would need to get it working. However, this is a Pure Data Program so anyone who can use pure data and has the tracker+ or tracker Mini can build on what I have done here and make it work with those other tracker devices. Please share this with the Polyend tracker community for others to extend this.

@@noiseaud Oh wow, I really didn't even look closely at the interface and realize it was PD. I might have to take a stab at it myself! I have experience with Max/MSP from a while back, but if I could figure out the mapping it doesn't seem impossible.

That's great. I hope you have fun adding more to the patch for the other polyend devices. Let me know if you have any questions when you work on it.

Awesome! Will it work on Tracker Mini?

Hi, thanks. If the tracker mini has the same parameters with the same CC message numbers then it should work. I don't have a tracker mini to know for sure.

Wow, I just got this recommended to me on CZcams. Can you explain what I'm looking at? I have a polyend tracker and want to know how I can use it

Hi, It is an editor you can use to edit the Polyend Tracker Instrument Parameters with your computer. A bit like connecting a MIDI controller to your Polyend Tracker to change the Filter, panning, LFO settings etc.. but this is all done on the computer with the Editor and connecting the computer to the Tracker with a USB cable.
The video is displaying sliders / parameters that that can be edited by clicking and moving the mouse - when the sliders are moved they change the corresponding parameters on the Polyend Tracker. In the Video description have a look at the Set Up section to find out how to set up the tracker and how to get it all working as well as download links to the software. I hope that helps - Thanks.
