Switch Pro SP-9100 Install on my 2023 Ram 3500
Hey Guys today I get started on the first of many upgrades to the new 2023 Ram Dually. Since the truck came from the factory with the max tow package, there were no auxiliary switches. Obviously that needed fixing and so added the SP-9100 solid state switching device. This supports 8 different accessories (4 up to 20 amps and 4 up to 35amps) and all switches can be programmed to allow for various functionality. As always throw any questions in the comments below or DM me on Instagram @harrisons.garage.

      I didn’t see any messages on Instagram and wanted to get some kind of response to you. We can talk in more detail on my Instagram chat. I would start by making sure that coolant is not overfilled when the engine is off and cool. It sounds like the engine got hot and the coolant got hot and backflowed out of the tank/radiator. When you were towing up the hill, did the engine look like it was overheating or were temps normal?

    • @thatguyc8791
      @thatguyc8791 Před 10 dny

      My mother drove it down the rode with water in the coolant tank (it was the best we could do) she had to stop after every mile to keep it from over heating, and she made it to a shop. Apparently a bolt had been rubbing a coolant house and put a hole in it causing almost all the coolant to fall out. Also I don't have instagram so that's why I didn't message you through there. The temp got up to 233 we were worried something really bad had happened and I panicked and thought of contacting you because all the shops nearby were closed and you are the best guy I knew to ask what to do. thank you for trying to help I apologize for the inconvenience, also we love the work you do it really is an amazing truck, I thank it will be fine now.

      @@thatguyc8791 oh man I’m sorry that all happened. I’m glad you at least had water to top it off with. Out of curiosity was it a factory bolt that broke the hose? If so, I will look on my new Ram to see if that bolt is still there or if they have fixed the issue.

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage Před 18 dny

      I had a similar issue since when you first hang the platform on the columns it will likely not be in the same position as the hydraulic cylinder wants the platform to be. I remedied this by getting under the platform and leg pressing the plate attached to the piston and moving it manually to sufficiently extend the cables.

      I did think about that. I’ve since utilized the banks a pillar mount which puts the gauges a bit lower. It wasn’t available when I first did huge install. @HarrisonsGarage Před 2 měsíci

      Sounds like you made your tires smaller by an inch. If that’s the case, your Speedo should say you’re going faster than you actually are by a bit. The first step to getting this fixed first try would be to drive with cruise control on at freeway speeds (I.e. set cruise to 70 and use a gps watch or similar to also record your speed). I’d imagine with your set up your gps watch would read 68 or so. Starting with the stock tire size and stock tire diameter in Alfa obd, you can set up a proportion to solve for the aftermarket diameter. Send me a message on Instagram @harrisons.garage and I’ll send you an example.

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage Před 2 měsíci

      Optimum pressure for mpg will depend on a lot of variables (truck weight, road surface,etc). Generally the more air in the tire the less friction/contact patch you’ll have with the road and better economy you’ll see. Of course too much air means less traction and uneven wear (a bulge will cause the center to wear before the outer edges). I suggest adding 5 psi until it looks like the edges aren’t running on the road then backing it down 5 psi.

    When the battery runs out it still runs hybrid so you still get 375 HP . May want to do more research . Even when the battery is "empty" there is still energy in it the battery is 17.3 kwh and the Jeep will use about 15 kwh and show less then 1 percent or "empty" but the battery will still offer the boost of the electric motors all the time when needed That's how I've come to understand it. The 4xe is always a hybrid.

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage Před 3 měsíci

      It is always a hybrid sure but I definitely didn’t feel the same pick up when the battery ran down. It also displayed less power being drawn when accelerating when under 1% battery. I did this acceleration up a hill getting on the freeway. My guess it that it provides some power to the electric motor but not all 100hp since in e-save it tries to recharge the batteries and not use them.

    • @geneshadd4483
      @geneshadd4483 Před 3 měsíci

      @@HarrisonsGarage there is no loss in power we ran them at try he track to get actual times. It always puts out 375 HP because the battery enginge is always running there is a reserve that runs in hybrid . Now if you run in high you get more power but you use more gas. Jeep will give you specs on it but that electric is always running just not full electric .

    Would love to know your feedback after one year. Would you have done anything different? Double ARB compressor or addition of air tank. Great video, will be doing that in my 2021 Ram 2500 but will be using Air Lift bags instead of Firestone RideRite (I have stock suspension with no lift). Thanks

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage Před 3 měsíci

      Hey glad you found the video helpful. If I was to do it differently, I would have added a second pressure control module and plumbed the bags independently of each other. This wouldn’t really be needed unless towing at the limit of the truck but it would be nice to have. As far as the air bags go, a tank isn’t needed. I think it might actually prevent the pcm from working properly since it would fill the bags faster than the pcm could monitor/regulate the bags.

    Is the wobble any better (without bolting) when there is a car/weight ontop? Heard the wobble is noticable w/o a car, but with weight on it its fine? Possibly can include the before and after wobble (with and without bolting) when there is a load on the lift Nice video thought :)

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage Před 4 měsíci

      Hey good observation. And yes. I noted this as well. I think it has to do more with the battery system voltage. Right when you turn on the truck the battery is usually around 11 or 12 volts. Once the alternator has a chance to kick on and supply 14 volts to the system it seems they brighten up. I’m not positive but that’s my guess.
