  • On Today's episode of Harrison's Garage I recalibrate the Jeep's speedometer to account for the 35" Toyo Open Country AT3s I put on several weeks back. If you missed that video you can find it here: • 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rub... . Unlike the Ram, Alfa OBD doesn't work on the Jeep so I used the Tazer JL Mini - link below. As always hit me up with questions in the comments below or DM me on Instagram @harrisons.garage.

    So I have a jeep JL sport and bought the rubicon fender flares with led turn signals , So I just bought the tazer JL mini just to make them work I also corrected the tire size and that’s it my question is can I now disconnect the tazer JL mini and reconnect the cables back to the security gateway connector with my changes being saved?

      I believe so - I disconnected my Tazer immediately because the electric charging system didn’t work with it plugged in. The changed I made remained saved.

    With that check engine light ding and flash it means one of the smog monitors are not ready status. Is it by chance your o2 sensor? Mine won’t go to ready no matter what I do.

      The check engine light went away for me as soon as i removed the tazer and plugged the security module back in.

      @@HarrisonsGarage hmm yeah mine does not. The light usually stays illuminated until start up which is normal. But when it dings and blinks then solid while on run, that’s the Jeep letting you know a monitor or two has not gone to ready status for obd 2 smog.
      Anyway, Jeep replaced my pcm and all o2 sensors. Can’t get that o2 sensor to go to ready status. No cel, no codes. Even paid the dealer to let them adjust the tire size.
      Dealer has actually given up and star cases did not help. Blaming the gears, 5.13’s and tires 37’s. So now I have to swap in a rear stock axle with 3.45 gears and some stock tires just to put the blame back on them.

      @@Intentsrig oh wow. What a headache. I did check with mine and I was able to clear the check engine light using the tazer's ability to do so but it sounds like your problem is being caused by something else

    You are not leaving the Tazer in after you are done, correct? You are pulling the Tazer out and plugging in the connectors to where they were.

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage  Před rokem +1

      Correct. Although it is my understanding that with non 4xe Jeeps, the Tazer can be left plugged in to utilize other features, attempting to do so on the 4xe interferes with the hybrid drive system.

    so running 35"s after taking off 33" will show your jeep's speedometer showing about 4 mph faster than you are actually going? So if I am actually going 55, it will show about 59? 2023 Jeep Rubicon 4xe for my daughter and she immediately wanted the original 33" k02's replaced with 35" K02's. May not recalibrate and let my daughter think she is going a little faster than she is actually...

      Running 35s without recalibrating the speedometer on the Jeep’s ECM will mean then when her speedometer reports 70 mph she will actually be doing close to 75. The faster you go, the greater the difference becomes. If she forgets that it hasn’t been recalibrated, it is an easy way to accidentally get a speeding ticket. Say she wants to do 75 in a 65 and starts driving 75 (having forgotten it’s not been recalibrated) she’ll actually be doing about 80.

    Can this be something the dealership can do?

    • @HarrisonsGarage
      @HarrisonsGarage  Před 10 měsíci

      It may depending on your dealership. Unfortunately my experience with dealerships has been less than thrilling. They have usually given me a blank “deer in the headlights” stare when inquiring about things like this. If they have heard of it, they have just said it can’t be done or they don’t know how to do it. If you can find a dealer willing and able to do this than definitely utilize them.

      @@HarrisonsGarage That’s lame but understandable. They’ve been hiring nothing but mindless morons laity.
