I started jiu jitsu about 6 years ago I’m feeling I’m coming up on my purple belt. I also started a tattoo apprenticeship a little over 6 months ago going to be tattooing soon. This is a video I really needed, seriously motivated me thank you. Probably one of the best videos I have ever seen and I’ve been on CZcams since the start lol ❤ much love!!!!!!

I've used pens for Large needle grouping for shading. I've been using coils for 19 years and tried pens for the last 5 years, I Like the pens for shading large groupings but always, always depend on my coils. Sometimes I worry if my Pen will go out but never ever worry if my coil machines would die out during a session.

I'm actually just getting into the machine building myself. I want to learn more about coils so bad

Ive never really cared about wanting to go do conventions at all but the paradise gathering is definitely that "I have to make that journey one day" events

Awesome video, just a heads up though - here in Aus, we had an artist have 11 clients come back with such a bad skin infection they have to go on a 5 year round of antibiotics OR have the areas where the greywash was used completely cut out (with a chance that after the 5 year course, they still may need to have skin removed). The reason I'm writing this is because it was a SOLID INK brand bottle of premade greywash. Areas infected were only where he used it and everything else healed fine. Was also a new bottle. Maybe it was a bad batch, but I've had other local artists heavily recommend against the brand. So if you're going to continue using them just be careful homie!

How would you print the correct size to fit the markers on the skin

Torque in this case is basically the twist force. In the case you’re referencing, since the distance vector is the same between the two motors referenced, the force is greater in the macro motor in order to achieve the greater millinewton meters measurement. More twist force in the macro motor, as you can imagine, equates to more needle poke force, or punch as you described it.

Very cool stuff. I see that your needle is entering 90 degrees to the surface, have you tried angling the machine and needle to see how it changes? Most artist I know tattoo at somewhat of an angle, even as much as 45 degrees at times. I’m curious what that changes with this type of study.

Very cool to see this! Grew up in CNY and had the ability to get tattooed at Classic Trilogy years ago. Thom's art really challenged what I thought tattooing was at my young age and honestly even to this day a lot of those pieces stay fresh in my mind. so sick

Baught a torque pen used it for a month then gone back to my coils

Saran Wrap. Then ducttape the arm just to get the pattern and measurements. Like sewing and/ draping clothing on a body form. I guess one could say that you’re draping a tattoo during the fitting session before the big day the big day that you get married to your tattoo. 🎉
