Hawes Farms Harvest Festival - Zombie Massacre

The corn field is crawling with zombies. It's up to the zombie slayers to clear the pasture so we can all get back to carving jack-o-lanterns, and petting goats, and riding bulls, etc.... The Hawes Historic Farms - Harvest Festival is on through October and picking up steam (see train ride) as the month comes to a close. Woohoo!!

In 1938 Asheville, North Carolina hosted the 11th Annual Rhododendron Parade. This event was captured in color on 8mm film. This is a low-quality video conversion. The original film looks much nicer with vivid colors and extraordinary detail.

This is a bit mysterious. Can't seem to find any information about this program. It was produced by Allan Sherman (Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh) and hosted by Ted Brown - a NYC Radio deejay. This show has some minor difficulties, and mistakes throughout. The show's sponsor "New Pink Jazz" is obviously fictitious, so this may have been a pilot episode. Audrey Meadows makes a guest appearance. Ebay...

Please give us historic accuracy- we appreciate your contributions but this was made in 1957- look at the car- thanks
It was actually the law in 1954 that you were required to smoke a pipe and wear a fedora while fishing. (wink)
FAKE!!! The first green (styrene plastic) telephone wasn't manufactured until 1959! In 1951, all telephones were Bakelite (Synthane) for electrical shock safety, and made fine homicide weapons, and black, dull red or off-white in color, all over the World. The dress is from the early 1960's in styling. I'm a professional photographer and have been doing it for 57 years. I also am a clothing "style" aficionado and can tell an 1889 dress and hat from a 1900 dress and hat or what year a suit or dress shirt was made from almost ANY culture and country. The "fatal flaw" in most "historical movies" is speech patterns and costuming. The last "Titanic" movie was so poor on costumes, anyone that has printed old negatives knew the clothing styles were from the late 1930's!!! "Gone With the Wind" costumes, hair styles and language were all from the 1880 and 1900's, not the 1860's!
Not FAKE, I just got the year wrong. There was no date on the can, so it was a wild guess on my part. Many people have commented that the vehicle is a 1957 - so it could easily be early 1960's (or thereabouts). But thanks for the info.
Look at her, elegant, sexy; sophisticated, no tatoos...awesome

Smoking is bad for you .
1952 I was 5 lol it was a very good yr
I love these old snippets of history. We have no idea who these people are but I sure would like to know what became of them. What kind of life did they end up with and if they found God in their travels. I pray that they are walking with the Lord.
Momma wants to play!
Paul '"Tank" Younger BELONGS IN NFL HOF: In his ten-year professional career with the Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Younger was named to the Pro Bowl four times (1951, 1952, 1953, and 1955), rushed for 3640 yards on 770 carries, caught 100 passes for 1167 yards, scored 35 touchdowns (34 rushing, 1 receiving). He was the first black player to play in an NFL All-Star Game and became the league's first black assistant general manager
I miss this being a zombie was one of the most fun jobs I ever had

This has been a a recurring comment since I posted the video. I was guessing on the date when I posted the film clip. I obviously don't know much about classic cars.

NESSA ÉPOCA FUMAR ERA CHIQUE.EU TINHA DOIS ANOS.AS PESSOAS SE VÃO AS COISAS FICAM.ESTAMOS SÓ DE PASSAGEM NO PLANETA AZUL.
my gut is that the first part of the movie is taken inside a cabin..not much in the cupboards..magazines carefully arranged on the table...seems to be an instruction card attached to the phone...minimum decorations...she is not married no ring.. I think the first part of the film is people trying to imitate Hollywood.. over-acting..at 2:47 we seem to jump to Christmas different house look closely at the door first part door does not have a metal frame..this part seems to show off a new car after a Christmas party...the first driver i believe is not the owner of the car..he is very careful (owner behind the camera)..when he gets out does not look very happy. (jealous?).second driver i think is the owner..handles the car well and seems happy...
well the liquor cabinet was well stocked.....
