    There is only one right way! As an Engineer. Set up Snellen. Mark the lines. Use your own test lenses. Go from 20/60 to 20/20. Respect scientific facts. Refractive change? -1 Diopters to +0.25 Diopters. Engineering science problem, solved. Engineers do not cheat objective measurements.

    Babe Ruth did not start his career with the bosox. His career started in Baltimore, where he grew up actually. And he only hit 1 home run there. He was sent to boston after that season as a hitter and pitcher. Nothing wrong with forgetting that, unless youre trying to tell us that he started his major league career in boston. But no. His career started in Baltimore.

    Is -400 bad?

    • @SportsVisionbyDrLaby
      @SportsVisionbyDrLaby Před měsícem

      Not to bad, but definitely needs correction. Highest I have seen is -27.00 !

    • @SportsVisionbyDrLaby
      @SportsVisionbyDrLaby Před měsícem

      -4.00 isn't too bad - zero would be nothing/no glasses and it increases from there. Usually up to -1.00 would be a part-time correction (for the non-athlete), over that most would wear correction full-time. After -6.00 we worry about increased risk for other eye issues, especially in the retina. The highest prescription I have seen is -27.00! So your -4.00 isn't too bad!

    @Siberius- Před 2 měsíci

    I didn't know that the "dominant" (preferred) eye can change, depending on the test, or changing a variable like distance. Each test result remaining consistent though makes sense to me as far as archers, and whenever I point at something with both eyes open, it's always lined up with my left eye. I wonder what other tests there are where both eyes are open, that would change which eye is preferred for the situation, and if they are the same sort of test as far as things lining up, or is it some other eye ability that is leading us to label which eye is dominant is those tests. Would be weird to have a test where all of a sudden I am now pointing at things and it lines up with my right eye for whatever reason (where both of my eyes are open and functioning normally in regular environmental conditions).

    • @SportsVisionbyDrLaby
      @SportsVisionbyDrLaby Před měsícem

      The pointing test is the most natural test as you test with both eyes open and can get a variable amount of Left or Right preference. In shooting sports/archery where one eye is used, things are a little different but you still should use your preferred eye for the distance

      It probably won't go away, but it also is not likely to get much worse - usually, these numbers stop changing between 20-22 years of age. Depending on your sport, it may be worth getting glasses or contacts to make sure you have optimal vision when competing!
