- Oh man oh man the audio hell I've been in. I wanted to provide some insight between my experiences with the Rode Podmic and Shure SM7B. Both great mics, with definite differences. Which one did you like the sound of?

I definitely take back what I said in the comments on your video about the PodMic. I said that it didn't need a CloudLifter, and while in streaming applications, the slight noise floor of the Scarlett 2i4 itself isn't anything to worry about (especially when considering game sounds and background music make that unnoticeable), when trying to make proper edited videos for CZcams, that buzz is so noticeable that I might go ahead and buy a CloudLifter.
The beauty of a proper audio setup is that even if I buy the Cloudlifter, it is a good investment because if I ever want to upgrade to the SM7B in the future, I will still be able to use the CloudLifter, and then much later on if I feel like I need to upgrade to a GOXLR, I can easily replace the 2i4.
Exactly!
Podmic is okay. I have one. It makes your voice sound thin. Your SM7B sounds way better. It has more fullness
That’s what EQ is for, obviously depending on your uses for the mic but if you’re just streaming or making CZcams videos the podmic is a much better value and sounds just as good as the sm7b when EQ’d and on the likes of twitch
@@arsenaloptimisthd4171 Agree about EQ and value. I have both mics and actually use the Podmic quite a bit.
@@ivanh3 yeah, when in a youtube video or especially streaming on the likes of Twitch, the streams are heavily compressed anyway, so there is no real sound difference there but for a podcast it makes sense to use the SM7B
Nice! I love my Podmic, but I'd love a 7B one day.
It’s worth it!
I think the PodMic sounds a lot clearer. I like it more than the SM7B.
CZcamsr: Sorrry about my hair it’s late at night
Me: this guy has better hair than me even at night hehe
*cries*
ALSo good video
LOL thanks man.
Very good quality video man! Thanks for the info
I get mine later today and will be excited Try it out for my content !
How do you do your EQ?
I just played around with it in garage band until I was happy. Then I saved a template with all of those settings.
@@TracyDavis904 awesome! Thanks !
Rode is very sibilant.
I think if you're on a budget, the sm57 would be a better buy then the podmic.
TBH.. i like the sound of the podmic better with your voice.
i think the low end is to low on the shure sm7b.. again this is with your voice
What are you using to monitor wirelessly?
Adoption Law Offices My AirPods Pro are connected to my iMac. I used GarageBand to record the audio.
@@TracyDavis904 no latency?
