6 months Learning Vietnamese || What I've learnt so far

- I've taken Vietnamese lessons for the past 6 months and this is my progress so far. I find remembering vocabulary the most difficult part of learning Vietnamese but speaking and pronunciation is definitely up there too. How was my pronunciation?
I began learning with a company called 123 Vietnamese (123 Tieng Viet) and I 100% recommend using them. They have their own books which you learn from during the lessons with a Vietnamese teacher.
I also live in Saigon and it was quite difficult to find lessons or apps online which focus mainly on the southern Vietnamese accent, which is also why I opted for a Vietnamese teacher.
During the outbreak, I've been learning Vietnamese online with my own private tutor. There's honestly not a better time to start learning vietnamese than now.
I wish I started learning sooner because now I know a little bit, I find myself learning faster and faster.
I was going to make a video at my progress at 3 months which I regret not doing as it would be interesting to see the development. So now I will be giving updates on my learning. So expect to see a "1 year learning vietnamese" in the future.
What's the hardest part for you when learning a new language?

Oh my gosh your pronunciation is incredibly excellent studying in only 6 months!! I can easily understand what you’re saying; it’s so clear. You have done a very good job so far. Wish you the best!!
Awww thank you so much Henry
Damn!! Only 6 months, thats very impressive. You're doing really well so keep going okay 😉 Cố lên!!
Awww thank you!
Pretty solid, some words are exactly how native speakers say them.
the one thing I would say is the speed, but you're actively thinking when you speak so it's definitely harder
Aww thank you! Yes definitely need to work on the speed
you've only been learning Vietnamese for 6 months but saying that is too good 👍🏻 i’ve been learning english for 5 years but still bad 😭
Awww!
It may take a while :) I met a Russian girl in Hamburg Germany, who could speak Vietnamese with almost perfect Northern Vietnamese accent. When you started greeting me, i was shocked LOL. She told me she was studying Vietnamese major or something like this in her university. She also spent approximately 6 months/1 year in Ha Noi. I mean you will do it sooner or later. Keep it up! A bit difficult to pronounce i admit :v a lot of children in Vietnam get the same problems as yours when they start learning how to speak.
Awwh nice story. Haha my teacher tells me the same about my pronunciation, similar to a childs haha. Maybe cos I listen to my son speaking.
Wow that's awesome, a Russian girl who speaks Vietnamese fluently! She sounds like she'd be the perfect wife :P pretty rare to find white women wanting to learn Vietnamese like these wonderful ladies.
Speaks fluently and got northern accent down? Damn thats good
You're doing well!! I'm so happy to see people loving my (Vietnamese) culture :) I know this is an old video but keep up the good work
Stuck in quarantine so I feel like I should get to working on my vietnamese! Great video and thanks for the motivation :)

So sweet of you to embrace the Viet culture and language. Your son will be extremely proud of you that his mother could speak the language and also to teach him when he grows up!!! :)))
Darn, 6 months and the accents is almost there! Keep it up! Lots of support from me!!!
Aww thank you!
Your pronunciation is much better than mine. My whole family has been learning Vietnamese after my sister married her Vietnamese husband. It's so difficult but so fun.
Love this video! Great job on the pronunciation, it takes time to make it sound smooth... I was born in the states and at times I struggle with sounding fluent to my native speaking parents. I’m using you as inspiration for my boyfriend who is also learning Vietnamese :-)
Aww that's good your boyfriend is learning too!
Congrats on your journey in the Vietnamese language. I’ve just started Viet 101 with vowels...can’t wait to start talking. 👍🏽🙏🏼❤️
Thank you! Aww good luck 😄
Great! Keep it up 🥰

This was so wholesome to watch 🥺

Well done. I’ve been studying for a year now and couldn’t speak as good as that!

That's great!! It reminds me of my school days, a Korean girl was in my class so I used to say her to teach me Korean 😄
Awh!

Thank you so much!
Just keep going! It’s pretty good! 👍

Aww. Nicely done
So glad I discovered your channel it’s so cute! You’re doing great! Keep practicing and you’ll be fluent like a native lol. I was born and raised in the US but grew up with my grandma so I know viet fluently. I think your viet is better than a lot of Vietnamese people that were born in America 😅
Awww! Thank you kelly :)
Your pronunciation is great for 6 months; you have a good grasp of tones too. Keep it up!
Thank you!
Dễ thương quá 😍 bạn phát âm vài chỗ chưa chuẩn lắm nhưng mà ngữ điệu với dấu câu thì rất chuẩn. Mình nghe hiểu hết dù che phần sub ,☺️☺️☺️☺️ cố lên nhá

Your pronunciation is good, have a nice day in Vietnam! Cách phát âm của cô đúng á, luyện tập thêm một tí nữa sẽ thành thạo thôi, chúc cô một ngày tốt lành ở Việt Nam!

wow! that's amazing, and gives me hope! I thought VNese was just too hard but now i will try again
You got the accent on point ngl :) Keep it going
great progression for 6 months, i can understand what you're saying fine, with more practice you'll have a more natural flow of the language. great work
I died when you used the word “cuồi bắp”. You’re doing a great job!
Hi Eve,
I can't comment on your pronunciation. I've barely started to learn Vietnamese myself. I speak English and French, and have decided to try to learn Vietnamese because my adopted grandson is from there. He doesn't speak any Vietnamese, but perhaps some day he will take an interest.
I learned French in high school, but never considered myself bilingual until, much later, I learned to talk to my future father in law, who didn't speak a word of English.
So, to answer your question, the hardest part of learning a new language is different for me than my first time around. The hardest thing for me trying to learn Vietnamese is that it is so very different from English and French, and that I have no one to practice with.
I too am trying to learn the southern dialect (my grandson was born in Sai Gon), so I can totally relate to your difficulty in that area.
Good luck to you. From my limited standpoint, you're doing great!
Wow I’m just gonna echo what many ppl have already said. Your Vietnamese is incredible for just 6 months of learning. I’ve been with my wife for over 16 years and cannot even speak Cantonese nearly as well as you speak Viet lol. I guess for me I lack the motivation, but that has recently changed, as learning new languages is my new hobby. Anyways keep it up. You will be fluent in no time 😄
wow you are amazing.. I stayed in Vietnam for 5 weeks .. but this language is so difficult
Wow great job
you’re doing good !!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
u did an amazing job !!!!
Thank you!
Very good, never realized vietnamese was that hard
That is very impressive! My primary school in Australia has an hour of Vietnamese once of twice a week and i have been in the school for 7 years, yet I cannot speak a little of it.
Troi oi , you are so cute if you speak vietnamese, after 6 months you doing very great!
This was so good!!! Omg. Please do more Vietnamese videos
Thanks! I'm working on it :)
Great job girl
Thank you!
wow your vietnamese is incredible ❤️ keep it upppp
Aww thanks!
It sounds super sweet!!!
