You two take me back 50 years. My wife and I had exactly the same disagreement on furnishing etc. The good news is that we grew to like each other’s preferences. It only took about 35 years to do so.

Oh come on guys... Even as newlyweds, you must realize that you've committed the rest of your natural lives to each other. So a break-in period of 25, 30, or 35 years is just preparing for the "run-for-the-roses," and that's the big '50.' Few couples make it... Fewer individuals make it... We were only 33 days shy; but breast cancer had already ruined 5 years of her life, so why not take it all... -pp

Just an artistic FYI: horizontal lines are grounding while diagonal lines are more jarring and bring a feeling of unease or excitement depending on how they are used. For a bathroom, a place of peace and cleanliness, using grounding horizontal lines would be better (like the first bathroom). So, good choice. I guess fate agreed. 👍

The kitchen looks great. It is easy to see how pleasant the improvement must feel, as you get the benefit. There is a good grout Sealer out there that keeps it looking good for much longer. And, of course, I can't remember the bleedin name of it! Please find it and use it as a neighbor had a problem with that on her white grout many moons ago. I used to use a toothbrush and a can of Ajax. You don't want to spend a day standing in your shower while scrubbing grout. Not my idea of a good time!

Kez you are supposed to rinse 2 tablespoons of the seeds, removing any debris or floating matter.
Place them into at jar or other sprouting container. Add ¼-½ cup cold water,
You can cover with a sprouting screen or mesh sprouting lid and soak 8 hours or overnight.
Drain all water off the alfalfa seeds.
Invert the jar over a bowl at an angle so that the seeds will drain and air will be able to circulate.
After about 8 hours of draining, rinse and drain again.
Repeat rinsing and draining 2-3 times daily.
Tiny sprouts should begin to form in about 3 days. Once sprout tails appear, move the sprout container to indirect light ( this is very important) for growing green leaves. Avoid direct sunlight.
Continue rinsing and draining 2-3 times daily for another 2-3 days, or until sprouts have grown to around 3 inches.
You now have beautiful sprouts to eat!

Good job. Kids bathroom is the way I personally wished for. I would have thought the other way made the tile look too busy. I agree with the grout sealer. Its a win in situation and so much easier to keep clean.

My #1 go to for solving difference of opinion in design is the rule that practicality wins! It's true that sometimes, less design, better execution looks better than going for cool that doesn't actually work out because the media is off a tad. Is there a way to add a small bit of herringbone to the backsplash of the kid's bathroom? Or a chair rail detail, that way there's a touch without it being too much to come to a collaborative compromise?

The tiling in the Kitchen looks fantastic, I know you were not so keen on doing the same in the childrens bathroom as in your own so how about just a few of the same size tile in a different color, Your children are absolutely adorable and I loved Beau's replies " NO" and " NO" again before she said "goodbye". so cute and funny

Kenzie's pick for the subway tile for the kids bathroom was the better choice. Simplicity is better and their is more consistency in the house. The white grout for the kitchen looks great. Best wishes to all of you. Glad that things at home are almost done.

Kenzie 😀 I heard you say you wanted to do some veg growing! That will be so much better for the family. It will also give Spenser a reason to buy a small tractor.
This is only a suggestion -- Y'all will benefit if you decide where everything will ultimately go on the property, like the mini farm, his shop, your studio, the kids space, actual driveway etc.(& map it all out).
Ok, I was wrong there are 2 suggestions. If you had it in mind to plant fruit trees, I would suggest doing that first before the veg/fruit rows. The trees will take a lot longer to bare fruit.
I really love getting to see at least a small part of y'alls lives, the kids, the projects, the house & your relationship with each other. I hope you plan on continuing the channel after the house 'is finished'...
After all the word 'Contained' can take on all different manner of things...including humor. We all know there's still PLENTY of that hanging out, so to speak.

That kitchen looks amazing. Great work, and really nice choices of every piece that went into it. That shelf by the window just sets it all off. I'm curious what accent color you guys choose for decoration. With all of the white, I would suggest that you just go bold. Either pick one strong primary color or, use a color wheel and find the best combination of two corresponding colors to keep it from feeling too rigid. _(For instance, Orange + Violet, The color orange or amber is soothing and promotes appetite, while violet or purple brings contrast and balance. The combination can be found in nature, sunrise, sunset, blooming wildflowers, distant rolling hills, etc., and balances the masculine with feminine pallets so that neither overpowers the other. The combination also opens up the inclusion of other earthy tones and colors like wood and stone without them looking forced or out of place, blending the modern with natural materials. They both go well with Green, which is the natural accompanying color to the pair. The Green of herbs and vegetables, the leaves and grass outside the window blend right in, helping to bring nature from the outside, in.)_

I love making up new words! I created the word "aqua-dexterous". While relaxing in my bathtub, I can shut the water off with both of my feet! Yes, I do consider that a talent. I love our homestead, gardening life so I really enjoy watching others fulfil their dreams too. Another good title for this segment would have been "sprout n' grout". Keep up the affection you too share together! I have been truly blessed to have been married to my husband/best friend for the last 35 years! I always tell people the success to a long, happy marriage is to always follow God and never stop holding hands! Love your channel! You have the sweetest family.

It’s a good time to start a garden! (Look into “back to Eden” style gardening or Ruth stout). you can garden year round with your sprouts though! Try mung bean. A couple tablespoons will fill a 1/2 gallon jar and great in stir fry. ❤️👍
