    starting off in 3rd gear is not how limp mode works.
    Limp mode actually cuts the power down to 25% load.
    You think that your taking off in 3rd gear but your not. Your actually in first.
    Putting car in reverse and having it "jolt" as you claim.
    is more of a separate issue, sound like you got bad transmission / engine mounts, or the clutch packs and flywheel going bad.
    never herd of holding the gas pedal for 20 seconds to get out of limp mode, most of us who know about these cars just cut the car off, pop the hood, unplug the maf, drive back home and scan for codes using a vag com adapter or autel device to figure out the actual problem and why the car dumped into limp mode in the first place.

      Thank you for this clarification, this would make a lot more sense than the car starting in third. I’ll look into the issue a bit more when we get the time to.

    I have a 2005 Volkswagen new beetle that has had a check engine light on most of the time throwing a code for transmission speed sensor (po705 I believe), sometimes it's on sometimes it's off, couldn't figure out why the check engine light kept going off then coming back on. All gears were selected on the screen on the odometer on the dash. Didn't notice too much of a driving issue, nothing noticable anyway. Maybe sounded a little "rougher" (you'll have to excuse me, I'm not a car person lol) when idling. Anyways, it's been doing this on and off engine light for months now, all gears selected, etc. Watched a few other videos like this one, didn't work. Just tried this exactly how you did it and check engine light is off, all gears are NOT selected, not idling rough anymore, good as new! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! You have no idea how frustrated I've been about this, and I really didn't want to get scammed into getting a new transmission on a car that has 220k miles. Sorry this is such a long comment but I just wanted to say thank you and how much I appreciate finding this video! You are f@*$ing AWESOME!! 🙌🙌🙌😎

    Perfect solution worked great, although, I did it when the car was hot it did not work so I did it again when it was cold, the car shifts perfectly there's not a jerk when put in reverse or drive.
    I gave it five stars solution, I was ready to take it to the mechanic and get charge $1500-$3000 for a new transmission. Thank God I tried it again when the car was cold.

      Limp mode was added so if there is a fatal error in the car’s computer or something is preventing the car from functioning normally, it will engage to prevent damage to the car.

      Dependingon your issue, there may be an underlying issue, but this will remove limp mode until you can figure out what’s wrong if it keeps going into it.

    • @jordanericbaird2724
      @jordanericbaird2724  Před 2 lety

      That is a sign of an underlying issues that your vehicle is trying to tell you about, I would take it into an authorized Volkswagen mechanic, or someone who has extensive knowledge on European cars. For me, I had engine coolant leaking from the oil filter housing. Your issue might be different though, so I would consult with someone with more extensive knowledge.
